Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Niece Anderson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Niece, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I created Channel Apex because I saw two big problems: businesses struggled to tell their brand story in a cinematic way, and filmmakers didn’t have clear guidance on how to actually make their films. While building my own project, Parallels, I realized how much people needed practical support — not theory, but real steps. Channel Apex lets me help both creators and brands share their stories, while also giving me the space to produce the kinds of films I want to see more of. It’s become a production company that empowers others and fuels my own storytelling at the same time.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Niece Anderson. I’m a writer and indie film producer, and I built Channel Apex Pictures as a home for the kind of stories I want to see more of—emotional, layered, and visually intentional. I got into this industry by creating my own work from scratch, including my newest project Parallels, a sci-fi romance that explores connection across realities.
Through Channel Apex, I help two groups: filmmakers who need real guidance on how to plan, fund, and complete their films, and businesses who want cinematic storytelling to elevate their brand. What sets me apart is that I understand both the creative and the logistical side—so I can take a project from idea to execution with clarity.
I’m most proud of building a production company that empowers others while also allowing me to create original films. I want people to know that Channel Apex is more than a brand—it’s a place where stories get built with intention, heart, and structure.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I was filming my sci-fi romance Parallels, everything that could go wrong did. A key crew member quit in the middle of blocking, one of our locations lost power minutes after we arrived, and another location suddenly had construction drilling right outside. On top of that, I had creative disagreements with my DP that could’ve shut the whole day down.
But instead of giving up, I adapted. I found new locations on the fly, adjusted the shot list, kept the team calm, and pushed through because I believed in the film. That experience showed me that resilience isn’t about being unshakeable — it’s about staying committed when everything around you is unstable. Finishing that shoot taught me that I’m capable of leading a project all the way through, even when the conditions aren’t ideal.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had to pivot when I realized most new filmmakers weren’t struggling with creativity — they were struggling with the process. Originally, I only planned to produce my own films, but while working on Parallels, people kept coming to me for advice on budgeting, scheduling, and planning their shoots. I realized the industry needed more guidance, not just more films.
That’s when Channel Apex shifted from being just a personal production label to a company that supports other creators and businesses with storytelling and structure. That pivot changed everything. It allowed me to serve a bigger community while still creating my own projects, and it turned my company into something much more impactful and sustainable.
