We recently connected with Nicole Hall and have shared our conversation below.
Nicole , appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Gary, Indiana born and raised in 2003 decided to become a Medical Assistant at a local Merrillville College after graduating I was placed at a known clinic in Hammond, Indiana where I was placed in the Occupational Medicine Department where I then became a Certified Professional Collector. I later gained the experience that I needed to move on and raise my family in Milwaukee, WI. I then began looking for employment and landed a position in the Native Community I started of as the Lead Medical Assistant and then promoted to run the Lab in the clinic as a Lab Technician. This is where I became a Certified Phlebotomist, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified EKG TECH and was responsible for all blood draws, lab tests, pharmaceuticals, and ordering all clinical laboratory supplies. After several years in Milwaukee and raising my children to adults, I felt it was time to move on to bigger and better things such as entrepreneurship.
In 2014, I decided to pack what all could fit in my 2006 Grand Prix and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and start a business. I drove 2700 miles by myself just me and God. Many obstacles on the way but that didn’t stop me. When I got to Las Vegas it was kind of hard to land employment in my field due to it being a transitional city. Meaning lots of people move in and out of the city which leaves employers not knowing if you are going to stay. However, I continue to keep my head up until something came through which was a local Adult Day Care Center Ray of Sunshine blessed to been given the opportunity. After that, I started at a home health agency to give me the flexibility to start my own business. This is where the journey begin in 2016 I pulled out every certification/license I owned I knew I wanted to be different. I also knew I would keep God first to see me through this vision. That’s when the light bulb came on and I remember I could not do anything in Las Vegas without being fingerprinted and drug tested. One Stop Fingerprinting and Lab Services LLC. was then created. I was already trained on drug testing just had to add fingerprinting which I did. The story behind the name of the business in Las Vegas there was either the fingerprinting place or the drug testing place. I wanted to create a One Stop Shop so customers could do both at one time.
In 2017, I became a Certified Professional Collector Trainer where I can train others on Becoming a Collector for NON DOT or DOT. Once my business was up and running smoothly, I like what I do so much I start mentoring others into opening up there own drug testing collection site across the world. Where they are offering fingerprinting, drug testing, DOT and NON DOT, gender testing, DNA testing, Covid Testing, Background Checks, Breathe and Alcohol Testing, HIV testing, and more, I currently have 37 mentees nationwide that is successfully doing well. I also started an on the job training certified phlebotomist program to help train others to further their careers that I sat on forever until my angel at Live Savers Training Center motivated me to just do it. Moral to my story I’m blessed my mission is to give back, try to help others so they don’t have to go through half of the things I did. God first, My Family, My mom, My dad, My children, Grandchildren, Friends, and followers are my supporters which is what keeps me going.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road it was definitely a struggle here and their finances was one of the biggest then I learn to work at my own pace while managing finances, learn discipline when it came to my business, and also time management.
We’ve been impressed with One Stop Fingerprinting and Lab Services LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I offer drug testing DOT and NON DOT, Live Scan and Hard card Fingerprinting, Background Checks, Covid Testing, Gender Testing, Breathe and Alcohol Testing, Salivia Testing, Mobile Blood Draws, Drug and Alcohol Consortium, Business Consultant, Partnered with many laboratories. What differentiates me from others is I’m a one stop shop that serves the community with less wait time. What makes me most proud is that I did this on my own and did all my own research and can now help others.
In 2022 I decided to go further and open up a location in Los Angeles, California providing the same thing, drug and alcohol testing, DNA testing, providing alcohol devices and becoming a training center offering medical assistant, medical billing coding, Phlebotomy refresher CEUs over the time of providing all the services that I do, I decided to start focusing on the youth because they are our future. I’ve also became certified with the better Business bureau
2024 most devastating thing happened in my life of me losing mine only son which shook my world I didn’t know whether to keep going or to give up. With the support system behind one stop Wesley, Ambrosia, and Urshela that wasn’t an option they kept me grounded and when I wasn’t focused on business they were until I was able to pick up the pieces again.
2025 I decided to step out on faith and relocate to Los Angeles, Ca still trying to maneuver this thing called life while grieving. I’m proud to say also in 2025 we celebrated our 10-year anniversary. One thing I want people to know no matter what continue to keep going it won’t rain forever. The sun shall shine again. And to always keep God first. Through this journey I would like to thank each and every last one that have supported me also the customers. And also the media for continuing to hear my story.
