We were lucky to catch up with Nicole Beasley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nicole, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I have been a CNA since about right after I graduated from high school I have worked really hard and with that I wanted to be able to have a legacy of my own. When I had the opportunity to build my own business I just went for it I have always loved getting glammed up and feeling beautiful and I wanted to be apart of that for other women. My dream is to own a building that is a one stop shop of beauty and glam with a nail tech, hairstylist, barber, eyelash tech, micro blading tech, waxing etc. That is my ultimate business goal. When you ask me what my mission is; my mission is to be able to take all the financial struggles off my loved once so they never have to hurt for anything. My parents went so hard for me growing up I never had to hurt for anything all though we weren’t rich my parents always made a way for me to have everything I wanted and I wanna be able to return that to them now. Also my sister she has been my biggest supporter in my life all while being a single mother of two; I wanna buy a house for my sister and her children, have a college fund for them if they decide they wanna go to college. My family has always believed in me no matter how many times I changed my career path they have always cheered me on; so you see when you ask me what my mission is they are my mission.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Nicole the owner of Joyce’s Beautttyy&Blading, I am 25 years old and the youngest of 3. I was born in Murray Kentucky, my family moved to Missouri when I was in the 1st grade so I have lived here for the majority of my life but Kentucky will always be home. Although I am a small business own I still have a full time job I am a CNA and I work with people that are mentally challenged , I love my job but I am also ready for the day I am 100% working for myself. What made me want to do micro blading was that I love to do my own makeup and when I would go out people would ask me about my eyebrows and who did them and if they were micro bladed and at the time I didn’t even know what micro blading was so I started watching YouTube videos about it and getting educated on it. I had the thought in my mind for a while but I wasn’t at a place where I was able to make this dream come true for myself. So when I had the opportunity to open my own small business I went for it I had the financial advantage to do so, so I did. I first got my micro blading certification and then started practicing and after I felt more confident I got all the equipment I needed to start my business.
The service I offer is micro blading. Even though people say it is permanent in my opinion it is semi permanent because you have to continue to get them touch up because they can fade. I also sell some beauty products as in lashes , lipgloss and that is all for now but I have more ideas of other things I would like to do with my business.
What I think sets me apart from others is my ability to connect with people. I am a very empathetic person, I love as I am doing a clients brows we can sit and talk about life I think it makes my clients feel comfortable.I am mostly proud of myself for seeing this vision and making it my reality even though at time it felt like it would never happen but I didn’t give up on myself no matter what I was going through mentally or physically I just kept thinking about that vision and it pushed me through. When people think of Joyce’s Beautttyy&Blading I want them to think of a relaxing and peaceful place where they can talk about life, work, kids etc. and leave feeling a little bit more beautiful than before.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word to mouth will always be the best way to gather clientele. Social media is a plus as well having everyone you know and who supports you share your business.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Before my client’s leave I give them all a business card with my instagram, email and phone number on it, I check in with them as they are going through the healing process to ensure everything is going well for them and when it is time for their touch up I send them a message to let them know a week or so in advance that their touch up is near and they can go ahead a book on my website if they are wanting a touch up.
