The vision was clear—I wanted to provide financial literacy and empowerment resources to individuals in North Baton Rouge, a community that had been underserved for far too long. However, the path to making that vision a reality was anything but smooth.
As I worked to develop the program, I encountered unexpected obstacles—funding shortages, limited resources, and the overwhelming task of gaining the community’s trust. These challenges were daunting, and there were moments when it felt like the odds were stacked against me.
