Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Myissher Wilson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Myissher , appreciate you joining us today. Is your team able to work remotely? If so, how have you made it work? What, if any, have been the pitfalls? What have been the non-obvious benefits?
Well, let’s first look at the definition of remote work: Remote work, also called distance working, telework, teleworking, working from home, mobile work, remote job, and work from anywhere is an employment arrangement in which employees do not commute to a central place of work, such as an office building, warehouse, or retail store.
It was the pandemic that set my business up for success. I was no longer going to “work”. I always had a studio to create from. I’ve worked my business from home for several years prior to the pandemic. Whether it was creating and selling art from home which led to creating my business PAINT XPRESSIONS, where we started with social paint and sip parties an then picking up contracts and doing expressive art therapy with various clients in clinical and private settings.
When the pandemic hit March of 2020, I was already familiar with how to work from home. Prior to the pandemic I had began my journey of transformation by joining the MITT program for those familiar I am LP168. During that time I did a lot of traveling back and forth from one state to another. At times, I wasn’t able to physically be present in my classes so I was able join them remotely via ZOOM. This was also my first introduction to the platform. Long story short I was collecting the tools I needed to apply to my personal and business life. Ironically it was the pandemic that helped me begin building my structure with all the materials and tools I was picking up and had collected in my tool box.
I began hosting paint parties and continued to connect with my clients and have private and group art sessions with them via zoom or FaceTime video. All from the comforts of home. The demand for the creative services my company provided had increased in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I was very confident and comfortable with the new way of conducting business remotely where for others it was an unfamiliar space. It opened up my world where others were experiencing loss, shut downs, restrictions and closures. For me it was the total opposite.
Myissher , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Im still here. Pivoting = resilience. Being able to pivot has truly been resourceful during my journey. Sometimes you’ll feel off course or there’s something blocking your road or view. I learned to pause and allow myself to go off course, even go over or break down those road blocks myself to get through. Each time there’s a gift I get to collect to help me when I return to course. I’m not loosing focus by doing so. Being able to change my mindset looking at what was once a distraction or discouragement as a opportunity to challenge yourself to multitask. Multitasking may not be in your strong suit. Or maybe you are a person that gives up easily when the road gets rough. Running a successful business, you’ll encounter ups and downs, positives and negatives. A healthy mindset helps you see that good and bad work together. You’ll see change is inevitable, hurdles are great challenges, changes in course are growth and opportunities. There’s so many lessons in our day to day lives. You get to be open and pliable to receive them and allow them to work within you.
I believe my last article I shared my art journey before, during and after the passing of my grandmother. After that I dove deep into my passions and I said nothing will take me off my course. I put up my own blockers thinking I could for once be selfish and do me.
Everything I experience and people I encounter are all meant to be. Things will begin to connect themselves if you let be.
I received a call again from a family member and was asked to care for my cousin Vercie Wimberly this time. I call her AUNTIE because she is now 99 years living. She doesn’t have children of her own. I tried to continue to run my business and include her in but soon became overwhelmed.
Again, my flexibility to pivot has been one of great and most rewarding gifts. I felt I needed some time to reflect and grow in my business and personal life. This was my door of opportunity I packed up and relocated to AUNTIES state of residence because I learned from my past experience of caring for my grandmother that home is where they want to be. I temporarily canceled all my contracts and relocated. I was able to still work other parts of my art business. I structured it so that I can work remotely and it’s transferrable no matter where I plant my feet. My business fits my lifestyle.
This move gave me these gifts;
I have a art tv program coming out on a network called IDEFINETV please DOWNLOAD on ROKU.
I’m working as an apprentice with Rasta at The Creative House which is an art gallery and event location that happens to be located 300 feet from my current place of residents. Talk about location location.
During my pivot I met a gentleman who saw my sunshine and wanted to make it brighter for the world to see. Mr Dexter Davis aka Mr Dexx is the owner of Bearded Dapper Services in Brooklyn New York and a Brand Ambassador for multiple companies also a member of the The Official Classic Men. He’s a true example of how fashion can be learned but style is in your DNA. He opened my eyes to me. Supported me in discovering my own style and embracing it. He shared a world of knowledge with me, supported in grooming my public image. Something I needed. He shared resources & contacts with me that he felt would support my development. One in particular I want to thank is Mr Philippe Numa. He listened to my vision and gave my company an identity a face. If you’re looking to brand or rebrand your business look him up NVITESTYLE. Thank me later. He’s passionate about what he does. You’ll feel and see it.
I also picked up an the additional business mentioned at the beginning of this article to add to my profile. I’ll be celebrating my 1 year anniversary in August of 2022. I am always artist and everything else is an extension of my creativity. I was introduced to the business through a friend named Kaylene Guillory. Accessorizing with my outfits was something I struggled in. Paparazzi jewelry make it effortless. I learned more about my own personal style by becoming a customer first. Kaylene also made the business look attractive. So I said #whynot.
I’m branding my own company named Sumptuous Bijoux. I’m just having the time of my life!! I do live sales on my social media pages. Please add me as a friend and shop my lives or go to my website which is listed in this article. When requesting my friendship on Facebook under Myissher White, please mention this article in the messenger and I’ll send you a free gift with your first purchase, as long as you are within the US and or it’s territories.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Learning that what I learned is still not the final answer. There’s learning in the learned and growth in the growing. There’s always a negative and positive. Own them both. Spend less energy trying to control the uncontrollable. Understand there’s a beauty in letting it be.
Challenge yourself to relearn the things you already know. For example, unlearning having a flexible schedule to having a structure one.. WOW!! That’s a big one for me. I don’t like alarms, I don’t like most commitments or responsibilities 🤣 or being told what I HAVE TO DO. But I realize in a business people need dependability. They want to support you. They’re looking for consistency and reliability. When you don’t show up when expected or anticipated and if you don’t honor your word, they loose trust and interest in you and what you’re offering. They move on to the one who’s SHOWING UP 100%. The customer wants to know that THEY MATTER.
~The only constant is change. You constantly have to be ready and willing to change~
