We recently connected with Muffdeezy DaDon and have shared our conversation below.
Muffdeezy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Throughout my entire life I’ve always been creative with my hands and my mind. Putting my skills to use led me to writing poetry, books, essays doing hair, creating custom clothing, playing the piano, playing the clarinet, and anything else I think of. The hustler was always in me, and I’ve always used it.
I officially started my entrepreneurial journey in 2018 with a women’s boutique called Deezy’s Playhouse. The mission of my brand was to be yourself unapologetically. I was a social worker with long “ghetto” nails, long “ghetto’ lashes, and long “ghetto” hair. I would get all kinds of looks of disgust and unprofessionalism. As soon as I opened my mouth I could walk circles around anybody in the court room, even some attorneys because I knew my stuff. I was constantly judged based on my appearance, so I wanted my boutique to be able to reflect doing whatever you want to do! Live out loud whether its with your fashion, words, accessories, do what makes you happy.
The motto that kept me going was “What’s the worst that could happen?” I’ve never been afraid to do anything. Once I get an idea I’m ready to run with it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My primary business right now is BossBae University (BBU). BBU is a creative space for entrepreneurs to pop their stuff, and equip themselves with the skills necessary to start and grow their own businesses. BBU specializes in hosting business networking events, teaching business courses, and assisting our clients along the road to financial freedom.
One of the things my business is known for is having HUGE pop up shops. They always have a fun theme to give vendors and the city something fun to do. I have registered up to 150 vendors at an event, and vendors make hundreds to thousands of dollars in four hours! I love being able to use my platform to recirculate money into our own communities while giving us a space to have violence free fun.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m bridging the gap between the community and the business owners. You generally would go to a pop up shop and see only business owners shopping with other businesses. I BRING THE WHOLE CITY OUT! I incorporate car clubs, dance teams, artists, and we all have an amazing time as a community. I’m going to deliver an experience every time!

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Business funding was one of those things I had to learn the hard way. My very first business I funded through bartending and using left over money from my 9-5 after bills. I didn’t know the importance of business credit and growing a solid business profile. I opened a beauty salon in 2022 where I was able to use business credit and resources to assist with the start up costs. I also teach other entrepreneurs how to build strong business profiles to access business credit and funding themselves.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is a funny place and can be used in a good or bad way. I like to use social media as a tool to meet new people and engage with others in my industry. My social media grew the most when I shared my success stories. I love being an inspiration to others. Some people may call it “flexing”, or “stunting”, but I’m genuinely proud of myself and my followers are proud of me as well! My content is funny, informative, toxic, educational, EVERYTHING! You never know what you’re gonna get with me and that’s another thing my followers love that keep me growing.
