We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ms. Noris Hernandez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ms. Noris, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Ms. Noris started to dream of her own tax business – one that would provide more than just tax preparation. “I wanted to add value, mentor, and develop other entrepreneurs with my years of experience as a leader, going beyond preparing individuals and businesses Income Tax returns. I want to provide all-year-round tax consulting, resolving taxpayer’s IRS situations, and supporting my clients to cope with life changes.” Resolving her client’s tax situation is her number one priority.
“My clients have tried to do their own income tax returns. I revise and fix their tax returns. I spend time with my clients. I want my clients to know I am here for them now and in the future.”
One key tip she gives her clients is to think through financial management decisions and not acting too quickly. “First crawl, next walk, then run. Anything good and sustainable must follow this way.”
Ms. Noris, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
After working for nearly a decade in the field, Ms. Hernandez established NH Tax Services LLC in 2017 as the sole owner. As the company’s accountant, certified tax practitioner and licensed notary, she provides services throughout the Houston area and is certified to perform tax returns in every U.S. state and occasionally in Canada and Puerto Rico. Serving a diverse community, Ms. Hernandez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
NH Tax Services has served the Houston community for five years. To run a successful business, Noris believes you must first excel at what you do, stay persistent and embrace your passion. “I love helping others. I count it a privilege to be where I am. I believe in our Lord. With faith, anything is possible.”
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In 2022, Ms. Hernandez was the recipient of an H-Town Women on the Move Award and was previously honored with a Second Place Award from The Galleria, Simon Property Group LP. Additionally, she was featured in the 2022 spring edition of Houstonia Magazine and on July 14, 2022, Noris Hernandez has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process. In recognition of her career in entrepreneurship. Looking toward the future, Ms. Hernandez anticipates continued growth at NH Tax Services LLC, while also taking on the responsibility of mentoring and developing other businesses. With pending Bar Licenses, she intends to begin combining her tax return preparer practice with U.S. Tax Court representation for clients choosing to challenge Internal Revenue Service (IRS) determinations.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing clientele is through referrals.
