Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Monique Jarosz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Monique, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Is there a heartwarming story from your career that you look back on?
We often say we’re in the business of changing lives, not just pain. There’s so many examples of how this plays out in the clinic. But one that sticks out to me begins with a client of mine who was dealing with chronic low back pain, which she attributed to long hours sitting at a desk with little to no exercise level. One of the most special things about my job is when clients truly open up to me and we get into the emotion reason behind why they finally decided to try physical therapy. She let me know that she’d recently started dealing with increasing depression, confidence issues, vulnerabilities tied to her age, and marital issues. She told me that she couldn’t pin point exactly when things (outside of physical pain) started to spiral.
I take my job as a healthcare provider incredibly seriously and believe that we truly have to treat the person in front of us as a whole. While I may be seeing someone for physical pain, we MUST look deeper into ALL facets of life (emotional, psychological, lifestyle behaviors, motivation, etc).
We dug deeper into her concerns and worked together to not only get her out of back pain, but improve her quality of life. There’s nothing quite like seeing someone’s facial expression when they pick up a heavy barbell from the floor to perform a deadlift and have zero pain! The smile across that person’s face and how they light up is pretty priceless. But even moreso, the confidence that exudes from that person is awe inspiring. Aside from improving fitness in her life, we got her connected with a counselor, worked on decreasing pro-inflammatory foods from her diet (i.e. processed foods/sugars) and improved her overall quality of sleep. We even worked on stress management techniques to put into practice daily, including a gratitude journal.
The best comment she ever told me was “I never thought I’d be able to do half the things I am now”. To give someone the freedom and ability to do things they never imagined possible for themselves is quite honestly the greatest gift. And it’s not for my personal gain, but rather that individual now has the ability to go into their marriage, their place of work, their community and as a better, happier, more resilient human-being. That person is now more equipped than ever to contribute well. For this particular client, her new-found confidence and life without back pain also was accompanied with improved mental health and a rekindling of her marriage.
It happens day in and day out. To have growing confidence is a powerful thing. And it can so easily be stripped of us if we don’t hold onto the “why” behind why we do the things we care about. So listen well to people’s “why”. It could be life changing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Dr. Monique Jarosz, PT, DPT and I am the owner of Onward Atlanta in Alpharetta, Ga! I opened up Onward Atlanta in 2020 to create a space to better serve our community in the rehab industry. Being Georgia born, my hometown of Alpharetta holds a special place in my heart and I truly believe the community is the reason for that. So, I knew that when I decided to open up my own practice that I wanted our first location to be in this town. I am excited to announce that we are also now serving the Buford community, as well! I also serve as a teaching assistant for the Institute of Clinical Excellence, where I have the pleasure of traveling the nation to help other physios refine the craft and bring fitness forward physical therapy to their cities.
We are a specialized, boutique performance physical therapy clinic thats mission is centered around building more resilient human beings on a one on one basis. I am so proud of what we have created and how lives are being changed. Paying specific and special attention to the individual right in front of us is one of our top priorities. It’s a big reason why we dedicate your entire session to you and you only.
We know people don’t have time to waste being thrown around the healthcare space from one provider to the next. We take out the guesswork, maximize your fitness and health, and ensure success while communicating with you in between sessions as well.
We also offer a wide range of specialized manual therapy practices, such as dry needling, spinal manipulation, soft tissue massage, cupping, and more! Our practice believes in physical therapy reimagined…You deserve a different experience than what the medical system is currently providing. You’ve made a choice to prioritize your health and we’ve made a choice to ensure your success. Rushed appointments are replaced with detailed assessments, skilled treatments, and uninterrupted 1-on-1 sessions. Together, we’ll build a plan to reduce your pain and to come alongside you in your long term health journey.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Relationship building! I think of networking with other businesses like dating. It can’t be one sided. If I’m just asking local businesses to send me clients without promoting their business or showing up to their classes and being just as invested in them (if not more) than that relationship will fold. Maintaining those relationships is another key component (just like in dating!).

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think social media had a big impact on that. Potential clients generally will use social media to fact check or confirm whether or not the business seems like a good fit. We do what we preach, meaning I am very much personally invested in fitness and I think my clients appreciate that. You have to walk the walk if you’re going to talk the talk.
