Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mindy Stamulis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Mindy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

With nearly 30 years in the hair industry, I had worked with many clients who had scalp issues across the board. Even my own self I dealt with scalp inflammation and irritation just by using certain styling products alone. We have so many synthetic ingredients out there and it’s playing a big part as to why our skin and bodies react the way that it does. I knew we needed a more natural approach to how we manage our scalp and hair health. I had decided nearly 8-9 years ago to visit a holistic school that was located in my own neighborhood. I ended up enrolling in a product production program that also covered my education. It was here that we made our first prototype ever before we even had the name HeadPlant. I went on to study medical phototherapy to a phd level.

Mindy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Having nearly 30 years in cosmetology and 10 in medical phototherapy, HeadPlant lives at this intersection. Our proprietary formulas are intentional, elevated, and top-tier. We do a deep dive into plant constituents, showcasing their medical actions, so that it becomes results-driven while simultaneously being an opulent experience. We are mending skin, growing hair, and moving muscles all while elevating your body ecology. Some call us the glow up while we like to say welcome to the level-up because we are changing the way we live in our bodies through nature. Regardless if you are a seasoned athlete, a wellness seeker, or in recovery, whatever is your daily ritual, we will meet you there.

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.

We are all in-house and hand made at this time. We make our own infusions, source our essential oils, and our herbs, we source out beeswax from local farms as well as the hemp flower we showcase. We pour all our salves and serums in small batches. Additionally we work close with a local holistic school for product production support. This support allows us to really fine tune and standardize our formulas to scale up. Every bath bomb is pressed in house and every soap is poured with care. These intimate stages in production really lends to the care, quality, and energetics of HeadPlant.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Our resilience has been tested to a max! We had to rebuild our website 3 times, We have had to navigate the ever-changing landscape of hemp and CBD industry. That alone has been a factor in our own infrastructure as a business. From the checking account in which we operate from, to the language we can use, it has been tricky but we continue to make it through!
