We recently connected with Micole Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Micole, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The best way to describe myself is as an eclectic. My company, reflects my background in various industries. Eclectically You Experience, LLC, is an award-winning media arts (publishing and production) company that allows me to expand and manage various projects and products under its brand, it’s umbrella. The latest is the launch of the ownyourherstory.org mission.

Micole, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a storyteller, I champion diverse voices. My latest mission is the ownyourherstory.org mission. We believe that the voices of women creators (writers, filmmakers, artists) are vital to shaping a diverse and authentic cultural landscape. Traditional industries have long underrepresented women in key creative roles and exhibition spaces, limiting opportunities for many talented women to share their stories. I have found firsthand that independent avenues provide a crucial space for women to lead, experiment, and grow. Research shows that women are significantly more represented in indie projects compared to mainstream studios and established art institutions. In this season, it is very important that I share what I know and do my part in supporting and nurturing those who are stepping into these independent spaces. In 2026, we’re here to build a community that values, uplifts, and amplifies women’s creative voices because every story deserves to be heard, and it is important that these voices flourish freely and authentically. EYE’s New Media Arts Initiative aims to create a positive social and community impact. In our early stages, we have established a website where people can nominate those who they feel should be spotlighted. Our YouTube channel and Instagram account are also up and running so we can build a community there and share encouragement, resources, and spotlights from me and later others who are nominated.
How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
Our goal is to regularly post resources, stories, and content that inspire and empower the community for free. We plan to highlight diverse individuals, including indie artists from various cities and states, showcasing their stories and creative work in various ways.
As far as the classes, I do not use platforms outside of my website. Links to paid workshops and classes for creatives will be available through my own platform. We will launch a set of creative online courses and workshops titled “Own Your Her Story.” These will cater to storytellers of all ages but specifically those who are trying to get unstuck and soon-to-be filmmakers and soon-to-be authors. We will kick things off with our first women-centric workshop during March 2026 to celebrate International Women’s History Month.
If they are on my mailing list, they will get the first announcement, but socials will also share more on when the classes launch and how to register.
I do like to explore platforms like Google Meets and Adobe Connect for meetings.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I think I have learned the beauty of not just thinking locally, but globally. As a Houston-born filmmaker, writer, producer, and creative director, I love the opportunities that have come from all over the world through writing, film, TV, and education.
My autobiographical mini doc, 365 Days in LA (2022), offers an intimate look at my personal journey moving from Houston to Hollywood as a writer, while my latest feature, How Do You Hear God? (2025), brought me back to Houston to explore the multifaceted ways individuals experience faith. My work on the television docu-series Unsung (2021) and reality TV show Big Brother (2021), along with the Mary Kay Inspiring Stories (2011) web series that featured my work along with others who were chosen female filmmakers from around the globe fighting domestic violence, further underscores my love and dedication to authentic storytelling, but it also helped me build a base in HTX and LA and beyond due to film festivals, platforms, and podcasters who take an interest in my work.
My books also did the same for me. As an author of 4 books featured at TX campuses and universities and private businesses in ATL, LA, NOLA, and HTX, I saw the unique opportunity in door-to-door growth. This mentality goes back to when I launched my writing career in 2009, blending narrative with motivational insights that were based in my hometown but always being open to the world outside the world I know. I received my Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from Houston Christian University (2022), but due to the pandemic, I negotiated if I could finish my studies in LA, where I felt the opportunity was calling me to expand. Not only did that time enrich my narrative craft with strategic storytelling expertise, but it also helped me expand my network. So I am at a place as a proud graduate of several programs that kept the entrepreneur in me growing and glowing and growing a clientele from coast to coast and internationally. I am excited to help others in the ways that I can.
For me, stories serve as bridges in art, faith, and social consciousness. It is our responsibility to stay connected and empowered by what links us together. In my case, social media and virtual aspects, but also traveling, have also aided in expanding my clientele and I love the idea of continuing this throughout my life.
