Michelle , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
I landed my first corporate client completely by surprise! I was scrolling through Facebook in a private group when someone asked for referrals for a balloon arch. I responded first without realizing it was for a corporate office’s grand opening in downtown Nashville. I was beyond excited and immediately thought, “I’m officially a corporate balloon babe now!”

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Michelle Smith, and I’m the owner and lead balloon artist of Infinite Party Designs. I discovered balloon artistry in 2020 during COVID while preparing for my niece’s birthday party. What started as a hobby quickly turned into my hustle, and I haven’t looked back since.
I’m most proud of the growth I’ve achieved over the years and how I continue to improve with each balloon installation I create. Every project is an opportunity to learn, innovate, and deliver an unforgettable experience for my clients.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
In my previous interview, I shared that one of my goals was to collaborate with other event planners, and I’m proud to say I’ve already started doing that this year. I’ve had the opportunity to partner with a few planners where I focused specifically on balloon décor, and those collaborations have been incredibly successful. Not only did everything run smoothly, but it also opened the door to new opportunities.
Through those partnerships, I’ve received referrals and gained new clients, which really confirmed the value of collaboration in this industry.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
We build brand loyalty by being intentional, consistent, and client-focused. We offer returning client incentives after the first install. We proactively reach out to clients especially for recurring events, because we understand our clients get busy and may forget to order their balloon décor. The goal is to make the process seamless, and that level of service is what keeps our clients coming back and referring us.
