We recently connected with Michael Heywood and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Michael thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry? Any stories or anecdotes that illustrate why this matters?
Corporate America is trying to take over healthcare. Everyday small business medical clinics are being bought up. Corporate America sees dollar signs instead of seeing patients. This is one of the reasons why I am so proud to be a small business owner.

Michael, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born and raised in Arizona and have a passion for helping people through physical therapy. I received my undergraduate degree in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University and then earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University. Shortly after graduation I enrolled in the COMT program through the Phoenix Manual Therapy Group. This program focuses on extremity and spinal treatment. I also received my certification in dry needling from the Spinal Manipulation Group. I have a passion for working with a wide array of orthopedic and neurological conditions. My experience ranges from: pediatrics, athlete recovery, post operative recovery, spinal dysfunction, neurological disorders, pain relating to pregnancy, extremity pain, dysfunction recovery, as well as hand and foot therapy.
How did you build your audience on social media?
We keep our social media presence very organic and original. We show our day to day happenings at DASH. We share our achievements and accomplishments, and we involve the patients who want to be involved. Lots of patients have fun with the social media pages. They like to share photos and have us share them as well.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I have been able to build my reputation a quality PT in a variety of ways. I provide a treatment style that is different than what most people have experienced. I am able to do this because of my extended education and trainings. I completed an additional year residency on the spine in addition to being a doctor of physical therapy. I also put patients first and they can see/feel that. I am personable and really care about them and their well being.
