Hi Miazza, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with what makes profitability in your industry a challenge – what would you say is the biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge I face with profitability is getting people from the outside looking in to understand why I charge what I charge. I’ve noticed that a lot of people do not understand how much time it takes to create just one garment as well as how expensive the yarn can be.


Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Miazza Walker, the owner of the luxury crochet business Miazza Couture. I’ve been crocheting for about 14 years, but I actually began to take my business serious is March 2021, which was the best decision I’ve ever made. My main focus is innovating fashion/crochet and creating garments that no one has ever seen before. I think my style of creating crochet garments and how I promote my business is what sets me apart from others; I try to create garments for special occasions. I am most proud of how consistent I’ve stayed as well as how much notoriety I’ve earned in just. one year.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
When my business first began to receive a lot of consistent traffic, it was great until it wasn’t. At one point I was not able to keep up with all of my orders in a timely manner, but my business what profiting the most it had ever been. When it began to be too much I had to pivot and think of a better and less stressful way to continue to stay in business without stressing myself out. That’s when I came up with the idea of hosting crochet classes. I was able to teach others how to create crochet garments while still making decent profits, while undergoing less stress.
How did you build your audience on social media?
The main way I built my audience on social media was by creating Reels and TikToks. TikTok is what blew my business up first. My videos would consist of me doing transitions leading up to the big reveal, which was a finished luxury crochet garment. For anyone out there looking to build their media presence, I would say stay consistent and post daily for at least 30 days.
