We were lucky to catch up with Mercury Selene recently and have shared our conversation below.

Mercury , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

Mercury Selene is a combination of a natal placement that is important to me in my personal birth chart. In astrology we all have a ruling planet, or a dominant planet that holds the most influence over you. Being a Gemini sun sign, naturally I understand Mercury plays a huge part for me. But many astrologers look to the rising sign of your birth chart to determine your ruling planet. I’m also a Gemini rising so I still look towards Mercury. Lastly, your Soul Planet can be determined by looking for the planet with the highest degree in your chart. Again, that planet for me is Mercury.
Selene came from White Moon Selena.
In astrology, she points to you at your brightest & most ethereal moments. Representing your highest self, divinity, & guardian angels protection.
My Selena placement is conjunct my Mercury. All roads lead to the planet of communication & learning for me.
Thus mercuryselene astrology was born.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am self-taught in tropical astrology & have attended classes in the realms of esoteric, asteroid, & fixed stars. I fell in love with astrology and mythology as a young girl. I remember purchasing some of my first study books at the age of 9. My passion extended to adulthood when naming my daughter, Athena. About 2 years ago, while energetically experiencing major plantery transits, I was also suffering from a major knee injury on a physical level. I dove deeper into my studies to gain clarity and start my healing process, internally & externally. I was seeking answers for my past, what I was currently dealing with, and what was my purpose going forward.
And those same questions I want to continue to answer for my clients.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I continue to build my audience by authentically being me and staying relevant to what is going on currently in the cosmos. If there’s a full moon or another astro event coming up, I’m going to blast all about it on my timeline because that’s what the people will currently be searching for. But in between, I’ll start a poll asking my audience what they want to see next or switch it up to something else funny or intuitive to what I feel is best. My advice for those just starting is to come from a place of passion so that you may find your true tribe. Take time to be creative & feel inspired by others while being original. And if you have a budget for ads, go for it.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

Simply, it’s really social media and the power of sharing. Previous clients share their reviews with potential new clients. And Good friends & followers have shared my content on their own pages or tagged friends in the comments.
