We were lucky to catch up with Melvin Howell recently and have shared our conversation below.

Melvin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

To be successful you have to be strong. Most people fail before they succeed. If they don’t fail they hit brick walls that stall them back so you have to be strong minded. I also believe you need a strong support system that believes and helps your business grow.

Melvin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am an independent owner of an up and coming clothing brand Always n Forever. I always had a passion for designing clothes so when the opportunity arose I started the brand. I provide streetwear/luxury clothing. I am most proud of the growth in myself. From the beginning to now I can see the improvement in my designs and quality of clothing. Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I originally started my business with the stimulus check. I figured it was free so I had nothing to lose. It was 1200 and I didn’t put it all in but I started from there and just kept it pushing.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process./

I started off making my own clothing with vinyl and heat press. While I was doing that i was looking for the right manufacturer and I found one. The biggest lesson I learned was if I could just order in advance because delays happen
