We recently connected with Meeks and have shared our conversation below.
Meeks, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think it takes a lot to become successful. You have to be low-key selfish and put your business first a lot of times. Most importantly you have to make sacrifices. Sacrificing spending times with your love ones and friends. Also, have to sacrifice spending money on things you would normally buy for yourself. Lastly, you have be really determined and don’t let anything stop you from achieving your goals. You’re going to be faced adversity but use that pain nor frustration as fuel to keep going. It’s not going to be easy but trust me KEEP GOING! It will work out in the long run and will add to your story for when you start doing your interviews. .

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Our Story Meeks’ passion for footwear stemmed from Atlanta’s trend-setting culture, where he was able to identify a seamless bond between fashion, creativity and innovative design. His intrinsic attention to detail and passion for sneakers inspired his journey to create a BRUXE, a luxury footwear line that will daringly push boundaries and set trends.
Inspired by his fascination with style and fashion at an early age, the BRUXE logo, fashioned with Tiger symbolism, represents what it means to be elegant, daring, and unapologetically free.
Facing overwhelming familial and professional adversity throughout his life, Meeks transmits his pain and aspirations into BRÜXE to exemplify the meaning of tenacity and independence. Every stitch woven into the fabric of the BRUXE design is intentional, intricate and innovative. As an Atlanta native, Meeks is determined to encourage inclusive opportunity, while also creating exclusive, high-quality sneakers representative of a persistent, defying, and relentless culture.
BRÜXE IS MORE THAN A BRAND, IT’S A LIFESTYLE!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
So, recently I made two major pivots with BRÜXE. The first pivot, I changed my manufacture. I am no longer getting my shoes made in Italy and now getting them made in Spain. I did not like the quality of service and my previous manufacturer were creating unnecessary road blocks for my company that was costing me money. In addition, I am expanding the brand to more than just footwear. We are going to unveil apparel pieces and more accessories going forward. Each collection now will be an entire capsule with a theme attached to it.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One lesson I had to unlearn was location doesn’t mean luxury in today’s times. It doesn’t really matter where your products are made, it matters about sourcing the right materials and making sure the craftsmanship is high-quality. Over the years, I noticed a lot of people did not care my shoes were made in Italy. They were more focused on style, colors, and quality. Most importantly, try keeping cost as low as possible without jeopardizing the quality and integrity of the brand.
