We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Max Ehrman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Max below.
Max , appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I have painted murals for over 12 schools and have transformed the context of the students learning environment from one of dreary blank walls to color and energy. I have also painted in cities all over the world and have interacted with people through the bridge of art.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a muralist and studio artist that has been painting mural for over 20 years now, my formal schooling is in the discipline of architecture which i have a bachelors and masters from the bauhaus in germany, I started painting graffiti in 1996 and progressed in style and technique to hone my skills to work as a professional artist. I have traveled all over the world painting for a diverse clientele from schools to large tech companies. I have ben living in San Francisco for 18 years now painting the urban fabric and working with clients all over the world.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
One of the things i love the most is the interaction i receive from the community when i am working on a project. People will come up to you and just thank you for making their environment a more colorful place to live. On one project i was painting a school and after the third day a student came up to me and gave a little watercolor painting of a rainbow that said “thanks for making our school beautiful”.
Another aspect that is rewarding is the process of creation, I love completing a painting but it is the journey of the process that i love the most.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Best way to support artist is to commission work and share their work via social media if you take a picture of the mural or see a post you like.
