Matt, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Matt will talk about growth- how we are changing the sleep industry. Hiring the right people and finding people that are smarter than me is what it took to go from ideation to execution.

Matt Smith, Founder & CEO Matt has over 25 years of experience in the industry and is a relentless serial entrepreneur. He’s owned and scaled over 10 businesses and was featured on Discovery Channel’s Undercover Billionaire, where he built a $5.5 million marketing agency in just 42 days during COVID. With experience as both a franchisee and franchisor, Matt is committed to creating prosperous in-store experiences that truly make a difference in the lives of our customers and communities. Matt was put here on this earth to sell sleep…which is ironic because he doesn’t sleep.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In general, franchising has been the art of pivoting every day. Our core values emerged from learning how to work with people. Our core values: good human, grit, and coachable. I would say I am one of the best mattress sellers in the world but when you turn into a franchise business, you turn into a people business and having the right people make your business.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Going back to our core values – grit. Being an entrepreneur you have to be resilient to keep growing and learning. In the past I’ve opened 10 businesses in 10 different industries and never let them fail. But to do that you have to have the right people on your team and work through challenges that cause other people to fail and be willing to systematize your business using traction and ELS. As we expand internationally, it’s a totally different market but you have to be teachable and resilient to grow and thrive.
