We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mars a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Mars, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?
I Noticed My Business Started Scaling When I Took It Seriously By Investing In Myself And Putting In The Work. I Create Daily. One Of My Favorite Things To Do Is Create New “Mars Hype” Gear And Show Up Wearing 1 Of 1’s. I Still Go To Events And Spread The Hype Around By Blessing People With My New Custom Products While Supplies Last. I Don’t Pressure Them To Post It Online. I Ask Them To Actually Use The Product. I Network With Business Owners For Business Opportunities That Bring In Revenue For Both Parties. I Appreciate Meeting New Supporters. My Art And Things I’ve Created Are Currently Traveling All Over The World To Places And Events I Haven’t Even Been Yet. I’ve Collected Many Life/Business Lessons And Memories Along The Way. The Most Important Is To Remember To Appreciate The Little Things And Keep Going.

Mars, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My Name Is Mars. My Favorite Thing To Do Is Turn Ideas Into Reality. Some Of The Most Successful Entrepreneurs Will Tell Us That There Is An Element Of Being In The Right Place At The Right Time. I Started Going To Events In Northern California Where I’m From. I Connected With Other Entrepreneurs And Businesses Over The Years. I Moved To LA And My Business Started Going Up Because I Focused On Elevating Other Brands With My Essential Products. Premium Microfiber Towels, Custom Chapstick/Lighter Keychains, Space Bags For Shopping, Hype Pouch, Over The Shoulder Hype Bag, Coasters, Cut n Sew Merch, Slides, Rolling Services, Content Creating, Ect. I Had To Invest In Myself By Being Disciplined. To Only Go Out If It’s Beneficial. “You Know It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp, When He Trying To Get The Money For The Rent”. I Can Say I’m Proud Of Myself For Not Giving Up. The Good And Bad Memories That Made Me Who I Am Today. I Appreciate All Of You For Being Genuine And Understanding That We Are Not The Same. We All Have Our Own Journeys And Experiences. Be Grateful You Have Free Will To Do What You Want. I Say Go Out There And Create A Life That’s Worth Living!

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
I Offer My Skills And Turned Them Into Services. Such As Consulting, Computer Related Jobs, Event Rolling, Graphic Designing, I Accepted Deposits From Supporters Who Want To Pre-Order Custom Products/Merch. I Invested In My First Sewing Machine, Printer, Heat Press. And Started Creating.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I Put My Trust In GOD First. I’ll Watch Or Listen To The “Secret To Success Podcast” For Insight While I’m Creating. Eric Thomas Is My Favorite Motivational Speaker. His Videos Still Remind Me How To Remain Humble, Elevate, And Be The Best Version Of Myself.
