Hi Mande’, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

When it comes to risk, there are various definitions out there. The conventional one states it as the possibility of loss or the chance that something might lose its value. However, in my eyes, risk embodies sacrifice. It’s about making substantial sacrifices to reach the destination you desire. Without that willingness to let go, you’re not truly taking a risk. Not everything and everyone can accompany you on this journey, and sometimes, you have to bid farewell to certain things in order to move forward. The true nature of a risk remains veiled until you actually take the plunge, as it’s a fifty-fifty shot whether things will swing in your favor, regardless of how meticulously you weigh the pros and cons.

I’ve personally embarked on a couple of significant risks, particularly with regards to my career security. Yet, it’s those very risks that have afforded me more time to nurture and advance my music career, ultimately leading to a greater sense of physical and spiritual fulfillment.

Mande’, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m Mande’ LeRoux, a singer and songwriter from Houston, Texas. Music has been woven into the very fabric of my being since the day I was born. Growing up, I was immersed in a rich tapestry of genres, from Blues and Soul to Pop, R&B, and Hip Hop. My musical influences span both the classics like Diana Ross, Donna Summers, Aretha Franklin, and The Temptations, as well as artists like Aaliyah, Gwen Stefani, Erykah Badu, and Missy Elliot and more.

I took a pivotal step towards honing my craft by enrolling in the Mediatech Institute for Recording Arts. It was there that my passion for music became an unshakable commitment. Within a year, I proudly released two hit singles, ‘Rose Petals’ and ‘We Kickin It’, both available on all major streaming platforms. Recently, I unveiled my EP ‘Sincerely, Mande’ LeRoux,’ a work that dives deep into the daily life of a single woman, exploring the highs and lows of modern existence.

A standout theme in this EP is my use of coping mechanisms to navigate life’s challenges. I draw on the healing power of nature, incorporating herbal blends, and turn to music as a way to process emotions. Through a fusion of R&B, Pop, and Trap drums, ‘Sincerely, Mande’ LeRoux’ showcases not only my versatility but also my production prowess.

For me, music is an outlet, a way to express the complexities of life as a single woman in a world that can often be challenging. ‘Sincerely, Mande’ LeRoux’ is more than just a collection of songs; it’s a powerful statement of strength and resilience. I pour my heart into every lyric, and I hope that it resonates with you, speaking to the human experience we all share.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Certainly. One experience that vividly reflects my resilience and continuously does when I was juggling multiple roles and responsibilities. Wearing various hats simultaneously presents a constant challenge. I often find myself doubting whether I’m effectively managing all aspects of my responsibilities. It’s natural to question if I might be overlooking something important or if I was on the right track.

What I discovered through this experience was that rather than fixating on the sheer volume of tasks, it was more productive to immerse myself in my work, trust my instincts, and apply my knowledge and skills. This allows me to prioritize effectively and address each challenge head-on.

There were moments of uncertainty, of course. But what I’ve learned from that experience is the power of self-trust and determination. The ‘You can do it’ mindset became my mantra. It’s about acknowledging that doubt is a part of the journey, but it doesn’t define the outcome.

In the end, this continuous experience was a turning point for me. It reinforces the importance of trusting my instincts and committing fully.Even in the face of doubt and while wearing many hats, I can persevere by focusing, trusting my intuition, and applying myself wholeheartedly. It’s a lesson that continues to guide me in navigating challenging situations and taking on new, complex endeavors.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist, for me, is the incredible opportunity to connect with a diverse range of individuals, each with their unique talents and perspectives. Engaging with fellow artists, creators, and enthusiasts has been an enriching experience. It’s through this network that I’ve been able to draw inspiration, collaborate on projects, and learn from others in the field.

Performing in front of an audience is a transformative experience. It’s where the energy of the crowd meets the passion I have for my craft. This dynamic exchange is what fuels my drive to constantly improve and refine my artistry. The ability to share my thoughts, emotions, and diverse life experiences through music is a privilege I hold dear.

One of the most gratifying moments as an artist is seeing the audience fully engaged, vibing to the music. It’s an affirmation that the emotions and stories woven into my songs resonate with them. Knowing that they are enjoying the performance, not merely as a passive listener but as an active participant, is incredibly fulfilling. This connection is what I strive for in every performance.

Furthermore, it’s a reassurance that my music isn’t just a personal expression, but a shared experience. It fosters a sense of community, where we find common ground through the universal language of music. Witnessing the audience enjoying the performance, feeling the music, and connecting with the lyrics, reinforces my purpose as an artist.

It’s a reminder that art has the power to transcend boundaries, bringing people together through shared moments of joy, reflection, and celebration. This realization continues to inspire and motivate me on my artistic journey.
