We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lunchbox Rachel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Lunchbox thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
The most meaningful project I’m working on is a new single I recorded at the Spotify Noteable Studio in Nashville. Each time I show up to another session, I unveil a new layer of myself in the composition. My songs serve as landmarks or scrapbook pages because I get to look back on them over the years and listen to what was speaking to me at that time in my life. It’s like an emotional screenshot.
The new single is called “Amoeba” and it’s about shape-shifting yourself to get love/validation from an external source. Sonically, it’s a very dark song as you can imagine. Outside of the studio, I’ve been focusing on self-care and bringing my own energy and WHEW! is it an under-developed skill of mine. I’m very curious to see what comes out next after this one! Maybe something a little more “sunny” and less ummm… Kurt Cobain.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m indie rocker, Lunchbox Rachel. My goal with my music is to reconnect every lonesome human spirit – one song at a time. I write rock songs that address tough topics through clever lyrics paired with unforgettable grooves.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
There are two moments that stand out to me as the most rewarding aspects of being a musician. The first is taking a demo or scratch track to band practice and seeing it come to life for the first time. It’s so satisfying having an idea turn into reality.
The second moment is performing live. There’s raw energy to play with and it’s fun to be the cultivator of the room. You have the power to change a person’s mood when you’re on stage. Hopefully you use that opportunity for good and help them navigate whatever they’re going through at the time. Music is a powerful healing tool.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I don’t know much about the National Football Teams.
