We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Luna Bae a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Luna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I really love this question…it literally defines my life. The best I can answer this is as long as I can remember. Even though my artistic career has taken different forms from rythmic gymnastics, to dance, modeling, content creation and now acting it’s clear that as soon as I learned to walk I knew I wanted to be an artist. Art has been my first love, my therapy, my healing mechanism and my strength throughout my life. I knew I wanted to pursue this for the rest of my life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Luna Bae is a little island girl with worldwide dreams born in Bayamo, Cuba by the name of Haydée Trotman Garcia that kept her dreams alive despite the crumbling world around her. While I started my artistic career very young back in Cuba, I managed to become a decorated gymnast and proficient dancer that was well known in my hometown but I always knew my journey would take me out of the country I just didn’t know where.
It wasn’t until I landed in the United States that I realized I had to transform my skills to something new. I was technically discovered by an aspiring photographer in Louisville, KY back in 2019, but it was the out of body experience I had when I looked at my first photo on his camera that completely changed my life. I completely immersed myself in learning everything that I could about modeling and slowly started gathering attention through my social media from entrepreneurs and designers that later on would connect me to the right people. I started walking in fashion shows in New York, to being featured in music videos, TV appearances, magazines and publications to now movie roles in BET movies. So I realized I was in the right path and decided to make my business a concrete brand.
Now Luna Bae is not only a multifaceted artist but an established brand that creates curated content for beauty, fashion and lifestyle companies connecting them with my various platforms audiences. I love to create a genuine and honest space for them by providing raw experiences that people relate to. This in turn is why companies love to partner with me.
I would say what I’m most proud of is my resilience to pursue my visions and goals despite any circumstances. I want people to know it’s all possible if you believe and absolutely love your craft, your gift. Most of all I am very proud to share with future audiences and clients that LunaBae is about loving your natural self and believing in your natural abilities which can change your life and the lives of those around you.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I absolutely love the idea of technology and art coming together! I am extremely intrigued by them and learning so much as I go. I currently have my own Art NFT Collection brand named @RosadoPlanet, It is a space where I can create art in my own way and share it both digitally and physically with my audience. It’s definitely taking over the world and it’s going to be much bigger than we see it now.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I love this question…and I think the best answer to it is….INSPIRATION. To know that someone out there in the world looks at my content, model journey, or simply the way I create and thinks “I can do this too” fills my heart. I’ve had little girls, younger women, and just people in general approach me and say: “I am so proud of you….or I wanna be like you when I grow up” makes me feel like every little obstacle I faced on my way was worth it. Inspiration of greats before me got me here so to know I too can leave my little grain of sand in this artistic world and have people appreciate that makes me whole.
