We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lukaz Wheaton a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lukaz, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Right out of high school, we made the decision to go all-in on music. No backup plan, no safety net. Just the belief that we could build something real out of it. Most people around us thought it was unrealistic, and honestly, looking back, they weren’t wrong to be skeptical. We were putting our own resources on the line with no guarantee any of it would come in any way.
What that actually looked like was starting Bloodline Music and figuring out how to run it as a real business. We performed at events, took on clients, and produced commercial audio work, all while learning on the fly. There was no roadmap. Every technical, financial, and logistical problem we ran into we had to solve ourselves.
It didn’t pay off the way we originally imagined, and I think that’s actually the most important part of the story. Running Bloodline taught us how to communicate with each other, manage projects under pressure, troubleshoot technical problems, and document our work. Skills that we now use every day. It also built us a community of people we still collaborate with now.
The risk taught us that betting on yourself, even when it’s uncomfortable and uncertain, builds something that a safer path never could. We’re here today with a skillset and a work ethic that came directly from that decision.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hey, we’re Bloodline!
We’re a sibling group making Alt. Pop music with dreamy soundscapes that pull you into a world of our own. If you’re hearing about us for the first time, welcome, we’re really glad you’re here.
Our journey into music actually started because of our youngest sister. She was signed to record an EP in Brazil, and watching that unfold up close did something to all of us. It lit a fire. We realized music wasn’t something we loved from a distance, it was something we needed to be a part of. So we jumped in together, and honestly, we haven’t looked back since.
Being siblings is probably the thing that defines us most. There’s a chemistry you just can’t manufacture. We push each other, we challenge each other, and at the end of the day we’re building something that genuinely means something to all of us.
Over the last few years we’ve been growing steadily, performing live, releasing music online, and building a community around us that we are incredibly proud of. The growth in our craft has been real, and so has the connection we’ve built with the people who rock with us.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Honestly, our social media journey has been a lesson in just being ourselves.
We built our audience mainly on Instagram, and the thing that moved the needle most was posting music content that was truly authentic to who we are and how we grew up.
One of the biggest turning points was when we started posting multilingual music covers. When we started leaning into that, people responded in a big way. It opened doors to connect with audiences across different cultures and communities, and that felt really special.
If we’re being honest though, the early days were a little rocky because we were afraid to fully show our true selves. We’d hold back, second guess things, wonder if people would get it. And that hesitation was the one thing slowing us down the most. The moment we let that go, things started to flow a lot more naturally.
For anyone just starting to build their presence, our advice is pretty simple: be consistent, and don’t overthink it. You don’t need a perfect setup or a viral moment to get started. Just show up, post what feels real to you, and keep going even when the numbers feel slow. The right people will find you, and those are the ones who will stick around.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Showing up and doing the best we can every time! Let your work speak for itself and be as ready as you can for when opportunities come by.
