We were lucky to catch up with Lucia Murphy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lucia, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
So the story behind Autobahn Title and Tag is my husband Glynn and I were coming back from a Doro Pesch concert in Germany when we were going a little too fast coming OFF of the Autobahn, which resulted in two speeding tickets so we decided to name the company after this experience.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
So Autobahn Title & Tag is a business in Scranton, PA that does Title and Tag for the state of Pennsylvania.
Autobahn Adventure Travel is a business dedicated to travel that started during the pandemic to show people how we travel low to the ground.
Our side hobby; website www.luciaandglynn.com (Lucia & Glynn) started when we first started dating years ago and is still going strong today. We are two locals that are just having fun traveling, eating, and listening to music around the world.
How’d you meet your business partner?
In 2014, I was approaching 40 years old, having problems in my marriage. I was faced with a decision to make. Do I continue to neglect my health, and live with low self-esteem or I could change my life by changing my attitude toward my own mind, body, and soul. I chose to change it all. In November of 2014, I held a 40th birthday party that I had asked my husband to attend. After much arguing over it because he wasn’t the social butterfly like me; I decided just to go without. He showed up. Didn’t really do anything much to contribute.
All of a sudden, someone walked in and asked me if I remembered him. I said No. He pulled a picture out of his wallet of the old him and the present-day him. I immediately threw my hands up in the air, and around him exclaiming that the best birthday present ever walked through the door, as my soon-to-be ex-husband walked out.
4 months later March 2015 I needed a date for a gay wedding, my soon-to-be ex-husband wouldn’t go with me nor support me, so I said, Sorry I can’t help with what happens next. I immediately put a picture of an invitation out on Facebook asking my friend Glynn, who is my husband now, to attend and he said absolutely.
Within 5 months – I was moved out and moved in with him. For years we related to each other as friends until our divorces were complete, and then made it official we were dating.
From 2015 – May 2020, we traveled the world together. Something that I had never done before. During this time I also had a small w2 job and transformed into a small business owner working for our local DMV as a 3rd party partner.
May of 2020 – we went on a hike to the former Tanglwood Ski area and found a house that we moved into 44 days later, got engaged the same day, and then married in October of 2020. We continued to travel, travel didn’t and doesn’t stop us at all. The only time that we stopped traveling was during Covid because we both had it, and the traveling was put to a halt.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Sure so how we built our audience is positivity; all day and every day. Life’s too short to live anything less of this.
