We recently connected with Love White and have shared our conversation below.
Love, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Choosing to launch Love & Snow in 2016 was it’s own risk. Our hero product, The Restorative Hair and Scalp Serum, was a product I formulated in 2008 and had begun to have some success before the economic crash. After the economy went over a cliff, I decided to table it for what turned into 8 years. Following a devastating car accident in 2014 that lead to injuries I still manage remanence of today, I chose to bet on myself.
Unfortunately, even with my PPO insurance at the time, my medical care drained my savings and retirement. I took the last bit of money I had left, along with previous business knowledge and launched Love & Snow. I was not in a place health wise, to return to my previous career journey. The choice to go into business for myself would ideally give me the time to rest and recover when desperately needed. While available recovery time didn’t always look as originally envisioned, there was still more flexibility than if I worked for someone else.
Seven years later, through many highs and lows, a global pandemic, and continued economic uncertainty effecting so many – Love & Snow is still here. We are a brand that continues to unearth dormant confidence, help people feel more in control of their hair growth journey, finally feel like their scalp doesn’t have to dictate their lives, and fall back in love with their hair again.

Love, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a natural enthusiast, along with continuous study, research, and training; for more than 15 years my expertise has been honed in understanding of how organic ingredients can naturally support body functioning. Years of being involved in formulation & education, armed with Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Clinical Psychology and Public Health I have sought to de-mystifies and de-segregate the journey to healthy hair and scalp.
Out of my own frustrations, experiencing devastating hair loss, and being fed up with broken promises of hair care products; I put years of developed essential oil and organic ingredient expertise to use to create my own solutions. Focused on formulating to address frustrating scalp issues and help strengthen my hair, without a greasy oily mess.
Love & Snow was born to supports unlearning the general myths frustratingly told about hair care. Helping individuals approach hair and scalp goals understanding the fundamentals to help anyone achieve the shine, strength, growth, and happy scalp everyone should experience. Desegregating hair care to make real, lasting repair a reality for everyone – no matter hair type or texture. Love & Snow is a line of hair care that uses 100% organic, vegan ingredients that focus on root issues to arrive at solutions that go beyond managing frustration. Supporting scalp re-balancing to calm the itchy, flaky, oily, dry rollercoaster; while fortifying hair to return health, hydration, definition, and shine.
What sets us apart from many hair care lines in the multi-functionality of our products, allowing our purposefully minimal line replace the typical basket of hair products. Our products are specifically designed to absorb well, so no rinsing is needed, and ingredients can go to work supporting healing, repairing, strengthening, and growing.
Love & Snow has supported cancer patients post chemo treatments; help reduce flare ups and manage plaque psoriasis; helped grow back hair through devastating alopecia flare ups; and help so many confidently fall back in love with their natural texture no matter how it grows from their scalp. We take each hair and scalp journey seriously. So many come to us when they have lost hope and Love & Snow shows up in delivering promised experiences, genuine care for an individuals journey, and some guidance and tools to better understand what’s going on.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn and shed everything that is inherently learned and embodied to be an employee to become a Business Owner.
Being in business is risk everyday; small risks, big risks, but always some risks. These risks have greater consequence and heavier weight and the transition from having some structure to work within, that a job provides, to you being the one to create the structure is a journey in itself. Especially during the early years or with a nimble team so much idea generation, logistical planning, and implementation lies with you. Even if you as the Owner are not doing all the steps, you are involved in the process, and are often needed for the final okay.
Whether launching a website, developing new product, or expanding reach the new reality became that I was the one to build the structure that we would work from.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Love & Snow being present in a post-pandemic economy will always be a illustration of resilience. Pre-covid, our business was heavily focused on the in-person experience. Our retail partners were fellow small businesses, and also stunned by the global news and trying to figure out what to do. Love & Snow revamped our online experience, focused on education to help people better understand the stress responses that were showing up in their hair and scalp, and constantly worked to develop an online space where people could feel heard, safe, and cared for.
