We recently connected with Liviu and have shared our conversation below.
Liviu, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
It’s a pleasure to meet all of you. My name is Liviu Tanase, and I founded ZeroBounce, an email validation and deliverability platform. I may be biased, but it’s fantastic to serve as the CEO and work with a team that is top of the line in every way.
The idea for ZeroBounce began when we realized how much of an obstacle and risk unverified email data is. Businesses need a way to ensure the data they use is real, valid, and safe to use. Otherwise, the consequences are serious for senders of all sizes.
Aside from your messages not landing in your customers’ inboxes, companies will find themselves in a lot of hot water. Critical messages – like account confirmations or invoices – may go to spam or get blocked altogether. It’s truly like a domino effect: good behavior gives you good results, while not having an email hygiene gameplan can do serious damage to your online reputation.
When we entered the scene, our goal was to treat the challenge of hitting the inbox with the respect it deserves. As the savviest email marketers know: you have to work to reach the inbox.
That’s why our vision for ZeroBounce was to be a breed apart. We didn’t just want to verify email addresses, but provide all of the tools a company needs to protect their sender reputation and maintain a healthy email ecosystem.
ZeroBounce has grown into a platform used by more than half a million customers worldwide. We’ve verified billions of emails for sole proprietorships and internationally famous brands. Chances are, many of the companies emailing you rely on email addresses verified by ZeroBounce.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Tech has always been a big part of my life. Although ZeroBounce wasn’t my first business, it’s the thing that made me feel like my past experiences were supposed to prepare me for what I do now.
I started ZeroBounce because I believed in the power of email and quickly saw how widespread poor-quality email data really is. Bad email data is everywhere and is hurting many companies. Some don’t find that out until the damage is already done and they’re no longer able to reach their customers.
On average, around a quarter of an email list degrades every year, due to people changing jobs or switching providers. Continuing to email those invalid addresses, along with contacts that were fake from the start, can damage a company’s sender reputation, which contributes to emails landing in spam.
So when we built ZeroBounce, we focused on the things that make an email validation service better, like accuracy and security – and we pushed for a higher standard. Our service guarantees 99.6% accuracy, which is extremely high in this space. No provider can realistically reach 100%, but we constantly work to get as close as possible.
Email has also become far more complex. It’s no longer just about getting past traditional filters. AI and new detection layers now play a major role in deciding who gets into the inbox. Without a clear deliverability strategy, even legitimate senders can end up being treated like spammers.
We never feel threatened or discouraged when the playing field changes due to a technological advancement. Each development is an opportunity for us to help elevate legitimate email senders. We also see it as an opportunity to fight spam and junk data.Bad data has no real value, while email continues to grow as a global communication channel.
As marketers became more aware of how much the details matter, we saw the need for a single platform that supports the entire process. That’s how we created ZeroBounce ONE, a package that brings together email validation, deliverability tools, and an email finder. When companies focus on these fundamentals, the results speak for themselves.
What I’m most proud of is the team we’ve built. We don’t take shortcuts, and that’s earned us trust. ZeroBounce keeps improving because of the people behind it and the integrity we bring to our work every day.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Reputation comes down to doing what you say you’re going to do. It sounds simple, but it’s not easy. The hardest part is setting high standards and consistently living up to them.
From the start, we wanted ZeroBounce to stand out for accessibility and accountability. That’s why our customers can reach a real person 24/7, every day of the year, including holidays. That level of availability sends a clear message: when something matters to you, it matters to us too.
Issues can happen, as they do in any business, but we never disappear when they do. We stay available, we fix the problem, and I’m often personally involved in making sure it’s handled the right way.
The biggest reason our reputation continues to grow is that we don’t stop at “good enough.” We focus on satisfying customers and are willing to exhaust every avenue to do that. When people see real results, they talk about it. That’s why we’ve earned thousands of reviews across major platforms and often rank ahead of competitors. It’s not something we chase, it’s the byproduct of doing the work the right way.
A big part of maintaining that trust is being honest about what it takes to succeed with email. We set clear expectations and share what actually works, and support people along the way, whether they’re customers or not. That transparency is just as important to our reputation as the technology itself.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Education is a big part of how we stay connected with customers. Email deliverability is more complex than many businesses realize, so we invest heavily in teaching through webinars and video tutorials. It’s a growing library of free resources on our blog and YouTube channel.
We keep in touch with clients through those avenues, but we’re also expanding our email newsletter. Email is the reigning champion of professional communication, so it stands to reason that an email validation service would have a great newsletter. Deliverability Digest is a great place to learn more about email marketing and what we’re up to.
Brand loyalty, for us, comes from consistently giving people our best. We pay close attention to how email is evolving and work to stay ahead of those changes, so our customers don’t have to react after the fact.
Ultimately we consider the success of our customers as a reflection of our own products. Our goal is to be as helpful as possible and to support people in reaching the inbox. If there’s a way we can help them do that, we’ll take it. Being useful is at the core of everything we do.
