Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lisa Stanworth. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Lisa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

Coming up with the name of my company took quite a bit of time! I brainstormed with family members for weeks and I wanted something catchy and memorable. I love hearing about the most important places to people, and wanted to share those passions of individuals “happy places” with others. I wanted others to be able to hear and understand why those places are so special to my guests and hopefully from there, help listeners to explore these gems from around the world. So “Choose your happy place” was born. It took some time, but I am very happy with what I came up with.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, and throughout my childhood, had the privilege of embarking on road trips across the Pacific Northwest, Idaho, Colorado and Utah with my mother. These adventures nurtured my love for the outdoors and instilled in me an appreciation for the beauty that our world holds.

Meanwhile, my father relocated to Hawaii, and my summers were spent exploring the wonders of the Hawaiian Islands alongside him. Fast forward to my college years where I met my husband.

Now, after 18 years of marriage, we are blessed with five wonderful children and have had the incredible opportunities to explore Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and various parts of the United States. As a devoted stay-at-home mom, my hope is to provide my family with enriching experiences and explore as much of this beautiful world as we can.

Growing up surrounded by Utah’s majestic mountains and Hawaii’s beautiful oceans, I developed an unwavering passion for nature, travel, and embracing diverse cultures. It is from this passion that the idea of creating a travel podcast was born. In May 2022, I experienced a distinct moment of inspiration that compelled me to share my love for travel with others.

Without hesitation, I embarked on a journey to dive into the world of podcasting and connect with people from across the globe. I love learning about diverse cultures, sampling any and every unique food, uncovering must-visit destinations, and gathering invaluable insight from locals and esteemed travel influencers. My sincere hope is that through this podcast, I can inspire others to explore and appreciate the beauty of our extraordinary world.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of sharing my creative dreams is the freedom to express myself and bring my ideas to life. It is a very vulnerable feeling to share one of your passions with the world, and hope others like it. It has helped me to build more confidence as I navigate the world of social media, podcasting, and now website developing. It is such a fulfilling feeling to see your imagination come to fruition and share it with others. One of my favorite things is hearing friends or listeners tell me they have planned their trips around one of my episodes. It’s humbling to know I am making an impact on the traveling community.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My goal for travel podcasting has first and foremost, been a way to share and inspire others to explore the world and try to make it easier for others to do so. After podcasting for over a year, I still love the ability to share travel destinations from around the world but am slowly adding more things to the table. My dream for the podcast is to expand and create more travel opportunities for my family, while sharing more about traveling tips for others. I am raising children who love to explore almost as much as I can, so I want to cultivate that passion while they are young. I would love for this to be another source of income that can facilitate those passions.
