We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lisa Marie Oliver. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lisa Marie below.
Lisa Marie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you manage your own social media?
I manage my own social media! It’s just as important as the business I am running! Content, relevant tags etc, takes time but I love doing it!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
It sounds silly but brows play a huge part of my life. The confidence boost I felt after my getting my brows done was unexplainable. I was overcome with emotions that something as small as eyebrows could make me as happy as they did. I felt my face was complete and that feeling was a good one. It felt so good that I wanted that same empowering and confident feeling for other women.
I offer several brow services! Microblading is a semi-permanent, go-to beauty treatment for women looking to obtain perfectly shaped (and filled in) eyebrows. Microblading enhances, reshapes, and fills to add on to or extend the eyebrows. It is a form of semi-permanent makeup that involves manually creating lines that mimic eyebrow hairs. Using a handheld tool and pigments to match it’s considered a part of the cosmetic tattoos category because the pigment is implanted under the skin. Crisp fine lines (strokes) that are almost indistinguishable from your natural hairs. I also offer brow tints with organic henna products, laminations and brow clean ups.
When it comes to our daily makeup routines, there’s always one step that takes the most time and requires attention to detail, eyebrows. Not only do I love the boost of confidence that eyebrows give, I love and work towards the natural look. I want you to look in the mirror and feel that the brows you see are your perfect match. Less is more and a little enhancement goes a long way.
I want my clients and followers to know that I’ve been in there shoes and can relate to the over plucking days of the 90’s, that I’ve had my own brows Microblades and have been through the healing process like they will go through. Ultimately I want them to feel comfortable with me and in their own skin!
How did you build your audience on social media?
First things first, secure your handle and ask for support from family and friends. I utilize instagram stories a lot and really that people want to follow you along your day and see what you’re doing. I have a personal and business handle but sometimes give a sneak peek of my family and what I’m doing around our community. I really try to use all that instagram has to offer. GIF’s, trending sounds, checking in to locations, tagging other local businesses and using relevant hashtags. It may seem a little overwhelming at first but I made it a point to create that habit and post multiple stories a day.
Lately I’ve been playing around with reels and it’s so neat to see how many other accounts it can reach. I like to ask questions, post trending stories that relate to what I’m doing and try to respond in a timely matter to whoever is responding to what I’m posting.
Consistency is key and social media is the most useful tool I have to help connect me to the world and outside of just my friends and family.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Social media has been an excellent tool to connect me with my current and future clients. I love when clients tag me in their stories and posts, that way I’m able to re-share and have potential clients see as well. I also share reviews posted as well as behind the scenes videos/images and FAQ’s. I try to be clear with my posts and most importantly respond in a timely. matter!
I have an open line of communication and respond to DM’s and text messages. 24 hours after a microblading appointment I send out a follow up text checking in on and remind them of a few key things discussed during the appointment.
