We recently connected with Lindsey Yancey and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I wish I had started my businesses much sooner. I launched it during the pandemic, when my full-time job transitioned to remote work, which gave me the time and flexibility to finally pursue my own venture. Looking back, I realize that when I was younger, I hesitated to take the risks I should have, and that held me back from reaching my full potential earlier. If I had started earlier, I believe I would be much further along in my career today. Still, I’m grateful for the timing and the lessons I’ve learned along the way—it’s all part of the journey.

Lindsey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I wear a few hats as a dedicated entrepreneur passionate about helping others succeed. Through LNY Assistant, I provide virtual assistant services tailored to business owners, creatives, and artists, specializing in the music, media, and small business industries. My goal is to make their lives easier by managing the details so they can focus on their craft and growth. With No Hook, I focus on supporting hip-hop artists and battle rap by offering marketing and branding resources. I currently manage a team of five talented artists (Cino Savvy, Snypa, King Stokes, OG Prime & Professah X) and extend valuable marketing tools to all artists in our network. Additionally, I run LNY Bar Services, a mobile bartending company specializing in weddings, birthdays, and private events. Whether it’s enhancing an artist’s brand, streamlining operations for small businesses, or elevating special events with exceptional bartending services, I take pride in creating impactful experiences. What sets me apart is my ability to connect deeply with my clients’ needs and provide tailored solutions that make their visions a reality.

Any advice for managing a team?
My advice for managing a team and maintaining high morale starts with building the right foundation. It’s essential to find people who work well together and to cultivate a dynamic that leverages everyone’s strengths. When bringing someone new onto the team, focus on finding individuals who either fill a missing piece or add unique value to the overall mission. Communication, mutual respect, and aligning everyone with the shared goals are key to fostering collaboration and keeping spirits high. Celebrate wins—big or small—and ensure everyone feels appreciated for their contributions. A strong team dynamic is the backbone of success.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been a combination of social media and, most importantly, word of mouth. While social media helps showcase my work and reach a broader audience, the majority of my clients come from referrals. Providing quality work and building strong relationships with my current clients has led to them recommending me to others, which has been invaluable.
