Lindsey & Macey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

Our mission is to “commemorate meaningful experiences”.

In October of 2022, we had a girls’ night with our sisters and mother-in-law. We went to a permanent jeweler and everyone received a permanent bracelet to commemorate our time together.

These bracelets are the start of our business and story. The bracelets that we got with our family are so much more than just a cute accessory – they symbolize the permanent bond that we have with these wonderful women.

Permanent jewelry can commemorate any number of meaningful experiences. We’ve done jewelry for bachelorette parties, best friends, birthday parties, and in memory of lost loved ones. This is why we love what we do! We love the opportunity to provide individuals with items that carry significance and sentimental meaning.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Macey has lived in Utah as long as she can remember, and bleeds the Beehive State pride through and through! Macey loves to run, and is currently located in Salt Lake City with her husband and two daughters.

Lindsey is also a Utah native. She loves to read anything and everything she can get her hands on! Lindsey loves Diet Coke, Gilmore Girls, and is currently located in St. George with her husband.

One thing we value at Elle & M, is the ability to adapt. We frequently assess our business practices and what is/is not working. We ask our customers for their thoughts on new ideas, and value all the feedback that we receive. We use this feedback to adapt our services and products to best serve YOU! One example of this was our decision to add birthstones and charms to the products that we offer. We asked our faithful Instagram followers if they were interested in birthstone charms, how much they would want to pay for them, etc.. Based on the feedback we received, we quickly added birthstones to our inventory.

We frequently meet individuals who cannot wear permanent jewelry because of work, personal preference, or extracurricular activities. Due to this, we recently decided to add clasps as an option for our customers. This way, people may still come get the custom, high quality jewelry that they like, without the commitment of wearing it forever.

We have a variety of chains available for purchase, and our inventory is always changing! This is exciting because you can come to us for jewelry as many times as you’d like, and there will always be new options for you to choose from.

One thing that we love about our services and products is that they’re for everyone. From anklets to necklaces, simple to fancy chains, masculine to feminine styles – whatever your style, whatever your story, we have a jewelry item for you!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

We are sisters-in-law! We are married to brothers – Dallin and Parker. We met about 6 years ago, when Macey and Dallin began dating. Over the last 6 years, our relationship has grown significantly as we have become close friends. This made the decision to start Elle & M Permanent Jewelry together an easy one!

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

Since we are business partners, we each contributed half of the startup cost. We each took out a business loan for our portion of the startup costs. After our business began turning a profit, we were able to pay back these loans.

When we decided to start the business, we decided to go all in. We frequently reached out to businesses and organizations to book events, and we did our best to get our name out there to potential customers. Due to this dedication, we were able to book a lot of clients, turn a profit, and pay off all startup costs within 8 months.
