We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lindsey Hance. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lindsey below.
Hi Lindsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Ever since I can remember, I have loved making food look pretty. I’ve always said, you eat with your eyes, before you eat with your belly, and there is just something about making every meal look visually appealing first!
I had posted to my instagram stories about a snack plate I had made for a football game, and a family friend messaged me saying she wanted me to make her one for an upcoming party. So I happily obligued.
She promptly ordered a second one for the following weekend, and told me that I need to create a business doing this. I was reluctant because I didn’t think the community needed another Charcuterie Board company, but eventually came to the realization that I would rather people buy from me, than someone else, so why not!
My third and fourth board were from friends who were excited about this new business venture, and then I set out to have a goal to sell a board to someone who I didn’t know, who just found me organically, and that happened within the first month.
Once the business continued to grow, and I had new, and repeat customers, I realized that I was building a name within the community.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
One of the best parts of building charcuterie boards is that they are completely customizable. If there is a theme, say less, I love to incorporate it into your board or grazing table. If there are dietary restrictions or aversions, no problem, I can adjust to anyone’s needs. If there is a new idea you saw on Pinterest and you’re wondering if I can put my own twist on it, absolutely, thank you for trusting me with your vision.
My job is to provide you with delicious food, that helps make a party you are throwing or attending that much easier, and I absolutely love it.
What started off as just individual boards, has now morphed into grazing tables, personalized charcuterie cups, to skewers, to themed grazes (i.e. breakfast which includes yogurt parfaits, breakfast breads, etc). It’s fun to watch the industry evolve, and be able to adapt to what each customer is wanting/needing for their event.
I’m never pigeon holed into anything, and it’s a lot of fun to be able to continue to be creative even close to 4 years later.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Just Post!
It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to represent you as a creative. I try not to put my face out on my platform very much, but it’s amazing the amount of engagement I get when I do, my views go way up!
The moment I think that I have figured out the algorithm or the right time to post, it changes. If this isn’t your strong suit, find someone who is good at this, because let’s be real, it’s 2025, we don’t watch commercials, we don’t listen to them either, so the best way to get in front of your clients, is through social media.
Just have fun with it, and remember, everything is content! People love to see it! And it’s a perfect (and can be free) advertisement for your business.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I love dropping off a board to a client, but what I love most of all is setting up a grazing table, and people just admiring everything while it is being built. There is something so satisfying that someone hires you to do something that you absolutely love, and you are proving to yourself that you have quite the gift.
I have absolutely LOVED meeting my clients, and learning their story, how they found me, and what made them order a board or a product from me.
The biggest compliment someone can give me is being a repeat customer, or telling their friends about my business. It will never get old, and I’m truly grateful every time that it happens!
