Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lindsay Regehr and Chelsea Turano, the hosts of the So Fired Podcast. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lindsay and Chelsea, appreciate you joining us today. Have you ever had an amazing boss, mentor or leader leading you? Can you us a story or anecdote that helps illustrate why this person was such a great leader and the impact they had on you or their team?
Our best boss is the boss that fired us, which is how we came up with our show, “So Fired.” Typically being fired is viewed as a negative, but we spun it into the positive. Without being fired, we may not have taken the leap to start our show and follow our passion of being entertainers.
Each week on our show we take life’s ugly things and turn them into pretty things, called our “So Fire Moments of the Week.”

So Fired, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Lindsay is a chiropractor and fitness enthusiast, Chelsea is a fashion designer and outdoor adventurer. We met while working at a chiropractic office, and it wasn’t BFF at first sight, but it was pretty close. During the few months we worked together, we had so many great laughs and inside jokes – the best part of work was hanging out together. Unfortunately we did both get fired, likely due to the fact that we were talking more than working. Lindsay asked Chelsea to host a podcast with her, and it started off being personal development and life coach focused. We quickly realized that we have a lot more fun when we can be ourselves and give out best friend advice vs. what we thought we should be saying. We also saw a gap in the podcast market between personal development and pure entertainment. Each week we do provide entertainment, recap pop culture, and give advice in the form of your best gal pal chatting with you, and we have a lot of laughs along the way.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to work with your best friend doing what we both love is living the dream.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
We work well as a team because Lindsay is the more business minded one, and Chelsea is the creative. We have learned that our energies ebb and flow and not always together, so it has been a learning curve to discover how to stay focused and get our work done. Often creative flows come during non-business hours, and we find that video messaging each other our podcast thoughts is the best way to get all of our ideas out then we can come together to mesh our ideas into an episode and other content. Lindsay is a great task starter, and Chelsea excels at completing them and being creative in how we approach our business.
