We recently connected with Linden Wilson and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Linden thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
Differentiation is such an important aspect of my business as a wedding photographer as there are so many incredible options out there for couples to chose from. I differentiate my business by focusing on the deeply personal connections I build with each couple. I take the time to truly understand each couple’s unique story, vision, and personalities. This allows me to capture moments that reflect their individuality, creating an experience that feels authentic and tailored. I also prioritize trust and comfort, making sure couples feel relaxed and at ease in front of the camera, which leads to more genuine and intimate images. And…some photographers my disagree with this, but I give my clients full-access by sharing my cell. We hop on calls, text each other inspo or ideas, just check in every now and then. I think it gives my clients such a personal touch and ensures that every couple’s day is uniquely documented. I also have established my own style. There are many photographers with work that looks similar, and I pride myself on offering the colorful, bold, moody visual poetry I create that also attracts my ideal clients.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Linden! I’m based in Colorado but am available worldwide to document your love! I’ve always been an artist but my business really took off when I moved to Colorado from Michigan over 10 years ago. I had started my business and then joined a company as the Marketing Director. After 5 years in the corporate world while trying to balance my passions and my business on the side, I decided to take the leap into running my business full time. It’s been over a year and has been the best decision, so rewarding, full of ups and downs which lead to growth, new incredibly clients and connections, travel, and just living my dream.
I decided to specialize in wedding photography from the first time I photographed a wedding (yes, it clicked…I fell in love!) because it allows me to capture one of the most meaningful and intimate moments in people’s lives. For me, it’s not just about taking beautiful photos—it’s about forming genuine personal connections with couples as they trust me to document their love story. Each wedding is unique, and I’m honored to be part of such important milestones, preserving memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. The joy of seeing couples relive those moments through my lens makes every experience rewarding, and it’s what fuels my passion for this art.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes! Since photography evolved from being my hobby to my actual small business, it had still been a side-hustle until just last year and I’ve had my small business running for years. I grew and challenged myself in other roles, but lived for when I would photograph my clients. I wanted to establish my career and achieve goals as a marketing director and was in more of a corporate setting for 5 years. I loved what I did, but I still felt pulled to photography and creatng a life I loved, following my passions. Just last year I decided to take the leap and pursue wedding photography full-time. It was definitely scary since I was in such a comfortable spot at my 9-5, but I believed in myself. Had other people who believed in me to take the leap. too. The comfort zone is a wonderful place but nothing ever grows there. Stepping away from the corporate world gave me the freedom to follow my dream and opened so many doors to new opportunities. Last year I hired and worked with a business coach that helped me scale my business, I’ve been able to travel more for weddings because I’m not dedicated to a 9-5, I’ve spent more time taking better care of myself, investing in myself, and I love to help others who want to pursue their passions full-time.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building an audience on social media has been an incredible journey, rooted in connection. I focus on sharing personal stories and behind-the-scenes glimpses into my life as a wedding photographer, allowing followers to see the real me beyond just the photos. By engaging with my audience through meaningful conversations, asking for their input, and responding to comments and questions, I create a sense of community where people feel valued and heard. This approach fosters genuine relationships and encourages others to share their own stories, making my platform a space not just for showcasing my work, but for celebrating love and milestones together. As a result, my audience has grown not only in numbers but in depth, filled with individuals who resonate with my passion for capturing life’s most beautiful moments.
