We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lillian Mintaya a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lillian, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Booker T. Washington said, “I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.” That definition resonates deeply with me because success isn’t just about reaching a destination—it’s about the journey, the faith, and the resilience it takes to get there.
I’ve learned that to see the success you desire, you must trust the process. That means embracing the challenges, the delays, and even the failures as part of the refinement process. As a single mother, an entrepreneur, and a filmmaker, I’ve had to navigate seasons of uncertainty—times when I didn’t have all the answers, when resources were limited, or when the weight of responsibility felt overwhelming. But I also learned that every obstacle was refining me, preparing me for the next step. The hope of the future is what always encouraged me to never give up. To know that where there is a problem , there is a solution that seems to always work it self out with faith and diligence.
Success isn’t always immediate, and it rarely follows a straight path. It looks like showing up even when no one is watching, making sacrifices for the vision you believe in, and having faith that the seeds you plant today will bear fruit in due time. While building my businesses, there are moments when I have questioned whether I had what it took. But trusting the process meant understanding that even when faced with the unfamiliar or uncomfortable decisions, small and imperfect steps meant moving forward. Even with fear and nerves, take the leap, do the thing, make the decision.
Producing the Mustard Seed Documentary is another reminder of this truth. The film itself is about faith and obedience to the journey of a higher calling. And that’s what success truly requires—the ability to move forward even when the path isn’t fully clear, to keep going even when the details haven’t worked themselves out.
The journey is just as important as the destination. And if you can learn to trust the process, to embrace every lesson along the way, you’ll find that success isn’t just about what you achieve—it’s about how far you will go and who you become in the process.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a faith based creative entrepreneur and coach dedicated to helping purpose-driven creatives turn their gifts into thriving businesses. My journey into this work wasn’t traditional—it was born out of necessity, resilience, and a deep understanding that purpose and business don’t have to exist separately.
As a single mother of four, I had to navigate seasons of reinvention. I built businesses from the ground up, learning through trial, faith, and persistence. My journey started with Three Honey Bees, a postpartum wellness brand I initially launched as a hobby to teach myself to sew. That experience taught me the power of creating something from nothing and scaling it with the right systems. Over time, I realized my true calling was not just in building businesses for myself, but in guiding others—especially faith-based and creative entrepreneurs—to do the same.
That’s why I created Vision 2 Launch, a coaching and business development program that helps entrepreneurs launch and scale their products and services in a way that aligns with their purpose. I work with creatives, coaches, and visionaries who feel called to serve but may struggle with structure, strategy, and execution. Through a mix of mindset work, strategic planning, and hands-on guidance, I help them turn their passions, gifts, and talents into sustainable income streams.
What I Do & What Sets Me Apart
I specialize in helping entrepreneurs move from idea to execution. Whether someone wants to launch a course, digital product, coaching program, or a faith-based business, I provide the blueprint, accountability, and systems to make it happen. My approach is holistic—I don’t just focus on business strategy, I help clients overcome mindset blocks, clarify their message, and operate with confidence.
What sets me apart is that I understand what it’s like to build from a place of faith and purpose while navigating real-life challenges. Many of my clients are multi-passionate creatives who have a calling but feel overwhelmed about where to start. I bridge the gap between vision and execution, giving them practical tools while reinforcing the spiritual and mental resilience needed to succeed.
What I’m Most Proud Of
One of my greatest joys is seeing my clients launch with confidence, knowing they’ve built something that aligns with who they truly are. I’m proud of the community I’ve cultivated—one where entrepreneurs are not just chasing money, but are walking in their divine assignment. I’m also proud of my work as a filmmaker, currently producing Mustard Seed, a faith-based documentary that speaks to the power of belief and perseverance.
What I Want Potential Clients to Know
If you feel called to create something impactful but need guidance to bring it to life, Vision 2 Launch was designed for you. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Whether you’re launching a product, service, or creative work, I help you turn your vision into a tangible, thriving business. Success isn’t just about talent—it’s about strategy, execution, and trusting the process. And with the right support, you can build something that not only sustains you but serves others in a meaningful way.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
During the pandemic, I was faced with a reality that many single mothers understand all too well—I had to figure out a way to provide, and fast! At the time, I was not only raising three children alone but also pregnant with my fourth. I had all the knowledge, skills, and experience to teach others, but I was held back by one thing: the fear of being seen.
For years, I had hidden behind my work, supporting others, building my businesses and letting my expertise speak for itself. But I knew that if I wanted to create the life I envisioned for my children, I had to step up and claim my space. So, I took a deep breath and decided to host my first-ever webinar. No fancy setup, no big team—just me, my story, and my knowledge.
I remember the nerves leading up to that moment. What if no one showed up? What if I stumbled over my words? What if I put myself out there and failed? Well… it happened. I was so nervous I pretended to have tech issues and ended the live! Talk about embarrassing and failure. In hindsight, I know that was no failure, that was absolute success. The smallest steps still means progress. I learned so much from that experience.
My biggest lesson? Do it again and do it better. With proper planning, my second webinar and first high ticket offer, I successfully closed my first 1K client. Since, I have hosted many webinars and have developed a one-and-close live presentation formula that consistently helps me close multiple four-figure clients in a single session. I turned my fear into fuel, and that one bold move set the foundation for my coaching business.
What I learned from that experience is that success isn’t just about strategy—it’s about confidence, connection, and clarity. When you show up with authenticity and conviction, you attract tribe.
That’s why I now teach purpose-driven entrepreneurs to boldly step into their expertise and turn their knowledge into profitable, impact-driven businesses. Because the moment you stop hiding is the moment everything changes.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Managing a team and maintaining high morale starts with clarity of vision and alignment of mission—and knowing the difference between the two. A vision is the big picture, the ultimate impact you want to make, while a mission is the path you take to get there. When your team understands both, they don’t just work for you; they work with you toward a common goal.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in leadership is that collaboration thrives when people are allowed to operate in their gifts and talents. Everyone has a unique strength, and a great leader knows how to put people in positions where they can shine. I don’t micromanage—I create space. I trust my team to do what they do best while I stay in my own zone of genius. This not only fosters innovation but also builds confidence and ownership within the team.
Maintaining high morale also requires clear communication and genuine appreciation. People need to feel seen, valued, and connected to the mission. I make it a point to acknowledge contributions, celebrate wins (big and small), and ensure that my team knows their work matters. Even in high-pressure moments, we keep the energy positive by reinforcing why we’re doing what we do.
Lastly, I believe in leading by example. Passion is contagious, and when your team sees you showing up fully, they are more likely to match that energy. At the end of the day, a successful team isn’t just built on skill—it’s built on trust, purpose, and shared commitment. When you create an environment where people feel empowered and aligned, the results will always speak for themselves.
