We recently connected with Leon Gomez and have shared our conversation below.
Leon, appreciate you joining us today. Has Covid resulted in any major changes to your business model?
Covid was a booster for my business, it helped me grow faster than I originally expected. During the pandemic people and their families still had the desire to gather and celebrate, obviously in a more intimate way where they could have safety protocols and enjoy high quality food at the comfort of their homes.
The pandemic was definitely a game changer for the Private Chef industry in general, putting us on the market as an amazing option for all types of celebrations, where you can design your menu and have an intimate experience 10 times better than in a restaurant where they want to kick you out to sit more people in the same table.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started as Private Chef 3 years ago. I was driven by my desire of being financial independent, I was not making enough money, restaurant industry is modern slavery, low wages, too many hours, working on holidays, etc… I wanted to keep cooking for a living as this is what I love to do, so I focused on creating a brand that represents me, my talent, my lifestyle, and that is Chef Leon LL started.
We do all type of events from Yacht Charters to Corporate Events, Birthday Dinners, Bachelorettes, Weddings, etc … you need it, we make it happen. Once you hire Chef Leon LLC you can be sure we will take care of every single detail, we offer a full service pack where we do the shopping , prepping, execute and of course we clean afterwards.
I am so proud to say in 3 years I have made my self a name in the Private Chef Industry, where my clients can rest assured that are in the best hands when they call me to take care of their events. I can also call my self a Reality Show Winner, as I got first place on my participation on Supermarket Stakeout for the prestigious Food Network Channel.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I think the most effective way to grow a consistent clientele is to always deliver a product beyond their expectations, even if they re hiring you for a 10th time, make sure you go that extra mile to create a wow factor. Remember what’s their favorite food, their children names, create a unique bond between you and the client, this way they wont even consider calling someone else, They already have YOU.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
If there is a powerful tool nowadays to boost your business this is Social Media. It can be useful or destroy your business, so make sure you leave it to the professionals to obtain the desired results. There is a very very low probability that you are excellent at both your own business and social media management.
This is one of the most important investments you can do in order to grow your media presence. People that goes to your social media accounts wants to see amazing content, and a well elaborated profile, it gives the client the feeling that you are gonna be the right choice for their next project, event, business… so my advice is hire photographers, videographers, pay someone to run your social media accounts so you can focus on developing your product and always deliver the best.
