Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lee Logan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lee, appreciate you joining us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
It was just about twenty-eight years ago when I walked into my boss’ office and told him I needed to do more with my career. After all, I had been there for over ten years. I knew the next step would be solo. Loving the industry of events but being confined by the boundaries of the event rental business, left me wanting to offer my customers more, they wanted more. I had been contemplating this move for a couple of years and just prayed the owner of the business, at which I was happily employed, would support my decision, and he did.
The gentleman offered me three choices, two of which were to remain working for him
in different capacities, while the third choice supported my desire to begin my own business. Astonishingly, not only did he support my decision, he offered me guidance, counsel and the use of his bookkeeper to set up my books, who I eventually was allowed to hire full time!
Lee Logan Events, Inc. was established in 1995 at which time the event production market was in its infancy. Of course, the great event designers of Dallas, albeit few, were truly molding the evolving art of event planning and production… unique and intimate small events as well as masterfully produced big productions. An awareness that fabulous parties, weddings, all special events could actually be a reality for everyone, not just “the rich and famous” thrilled me and I wanted to be a part of it.
The source of confidence I had within me was a bit of a mystery…. however, I had a solid foundation of logistical knowledge, a creative streak that allowed me to see things in my minds-eye, a good work ethic, appreciation of the strength and importance of honor in relationships and a naiveté that most would consider unhealthy. As a native of Dallas, you would think most of my work would be in Dallas; however, as I began specializing in off premise tented events—an unusual skill set at the time— I soon found my calling was to be a special event producer on a local and national scale.
I so gratefully acknowledge the creative, artistic and technical contributions of each vendor in creating the vision for every client over the years. We create teams which flow in correlation to the dreams, desires and aspirations of each individual client and we love our clients!
Yes, it’s been about 28 years and we’re looking forward to all of our great projects booked through 2024!

Finding the goal, realizing the mission… this is how it started for me.
It’s funny, as I reflect on the many jobs I’ve had throughout my life, a common thread to leaving the position was a tiny voice in my head that said, “I want to do more”, “I can do more”. I was working for others and not only felt restricted by boundaries designed by others but literally was restricted to doing more. I was struggling with “the rules”, “the policies”, the impenetrable ceiling designed to keep us moving in what was for me a restricting dance. A time where this girl realized, creatives create and to do as much as I wanted I was going to need to begin with me and create my own business.
The previous years of experience were fantastic! I was now embarking on an uncharted journey that I truly had no fear in.
Once we find our way to our gifts, we must grab ahold of the blessing, hold tight, commit to being the best and run into what may seem a long dark tunnel.
Who are we doing this for? Our families, our clients, our vendors, ourselves.
Why do we take the leap? To honor these people and honor the awareness that no matter how hard we have worked previously, at whatever job, school, project… we’ve been given the gift of now knowing our mission. The beauty is the goals will change often, The difference there is, we find ourselves in a unique position as we now have the helm. Sure, unexpected challenges arise… good… we are the problem solvers.
I believe what keeps me engaged and enthusiastic is realizing how blessed I am and being able to exercise a “servant heart” platform in business.

Being in touch with the seed of creativity, the gift of seeing in my mind an entire event and having the passion to connect with others is a driving force in my business of event production.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

The beliefs or opinions that are generally held about someone or something.
Think about that… important stuff… Do others trust you, believe in you? What do they think about you? If that’s not enough to drive the best part of you, what is?
The foundation of my event production business when it relates to my clients is the relationship. Honesty, integrity, commitment, respect…
Spending time with clients, listening to them, collaborating to whatever degree they find comfort in, letting each person know and realize I truly care. These are the goals I have when working with clients. And the beauty is… I feel and practice this work style with my many vendors as well.
These relationships have yielded a 28 year old business build on referrals from all of these wonderful people. Guess that’s a testament to my reputation. Thank you all!
