Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Leandro S. Ricciardelli. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Leandro S., appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The pandemic drastically altered how we worked, prompting me to build an ADU in my backyard. The shift to remote work highlighted the need for a dedicated home office, which my existing home lacked for two people. Inspired by Scandinavian architecture, I envisioned a separate, light-filled, and minimalist workspace. I delved into the design process, carefully choosing natural materials and large windows to bring the outdoors in. This studio construction allowed me to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing prototype that blended seamlessly with the tranquility of my backyard.
Our prototype has become my wife’s sanctuary, where she can work productively while enjoying the beauty of nature. It also serves as a reminder of the positive outcome that emerged from a challenging situation. As the pandemic recedes, this space continues to enhance our work-life balance. It holds potential for future uses, making it an investment in my well-being and property.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve been in the filmmaking and producing game for a while, and while I’ve had some amazing experiences, those long hours and constant hustle aren’t really my jam anymore. I’ve found a new love, and it’s all about interior design and building. I love this change because it lets me unleash my creative beast completely differently. Instead of crafting stories on screen, I’m now crafting living spaces. It’s like art in three dimensions, and I’m having a blast.
No more missing those grueling film shoots – I’m all in on making spaces beautiful and functional. It’s a fresh chapter in my career, but it’s still all about bringing ideas to life, just in a different form.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I’m well aware that I’ve got a lot to learn in this new interior design and building venture. It’s a whole different ball game, and I’m diving in headfirst. But I thrive on challenges. The idea of picking up new skills, mastering the craft, and turning blank spaces into beautiful, functional homes is incredibly motivating. I’ve faced tough situations in the film industry, and that’s taught me to push through, adapt, and come out stronger. So, I’m carrying that same mindset into this new chapter. Every project is a chance to learn and grow, and I’m stoked about the journey ahead.
Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?
I get that there are plenty of prefab options out there, but I’m taking a different route. I’m all about the tailor-made and customized experience. My focus is on creating unique, one-of-a-kind spaces for clients who want something special – whether it’s a guest space, a backyard studio, or anything in between. Prefab might be convenient, but it can lack that personal touch. I believe in working closely with clients to understand their vision and needs and then crafting a space that’s a perfect fit for them. It’s all about bringing their ideas to life, one nail at a time.
Sure, it’s a bit more work, but the end result is worth it. I’m here to create spaces that people fall in love with, and that means going the extra mile for a truly customized experience.
