Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauren Wells. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lauren , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents positively impacted my path to personal training by setting an example for me with their own fitness journeys. As a kid, I saw them both remain active, regardless of what life threw at them. This already set a positive foundation for me early on and encouraged me to stay active as I grew up.

Lauren , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I wanted to pursue personal training shortly after my diagnosis with type 1 diabetes at age 15. I fell in love with fitness and saw my body thrive despite the new diagnosis. Once I saw my health change for the better, I wanted to help other women achieve the same thing.
I offer personal training to women in the middle Tennessee area. I specialize in strength training and will work with all levels of experience. I think what sets me apart is that my greatest goal for my clients is not to simply have them reach an aesthetic goal, but to feel stronger and more confident in what they’re capable of. The greatest reward as a personal trainer is seeing my clients thrive and gain strength, stability, and confidence.
I’m most proud of helping my clients overcome injuries, instability, and muscle imbalances. These are the life changing results that give me joy as a personal trainer.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Other than diabetes, I’ve also been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and Sjogren’s disease. I decided I wouldn’t let these illnesses define me or set me back on my fitness journey. Each day may not look the same, but I balance rest while also pushing myself when I can.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Other than general knowledge, having a compassionate and patient attitude towards my clients is super important. Each client has different insecurities or struggles as they begin training, and they need a supportive and kind trainer to help them reach those goals.
