We recently connected with Lauren Bogle and have shared our conversation below.
Lauren, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Grit. It takes so much grit, perseverance, faith, dedication and discipline. You have to a student of this game called life. There are many things that happen personally that can effect your professional career and vice verse. It’s imperative to use the lessons as learning opportunities to try and better everyday. The second you think you’ve got it figured out, you’ve lost. This world is ever-evolving and in order to adapt and evolve, you have to swallow your pride and be a student. It’s not about who is right or wrong. I’ve tried to of course to help guide clients and friends based on my own personal and professional experience, but at the end of the day, it’s more of a matter of taking care of yourself. The more you can take care of yourself, the more you can actively help other people. And if my clients are seeing success, then at the end of the day that’s a “W” in my book.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a jock, farm girl turned sports reporter, turned feature producer turned executive assistant, turned social media expert, turned freelancer and then finally turned advertising agency owner. I saw the digital landscape start to challenge traditional media and started to teach myself the business aspect of the digital landscape through the social media following I had built as a reporter. After getting laid off twice, I started to hustle as a contractor to pay my own bills and cold-called just about everyone I knew in every industry five years ago. Now, I’ve built an advertising agency from the ground up on just pure cash, hard work and the opportunity to earn the respect and referral of many of my friends and colleagues. The problems we solve for our clientele is The Bogle Agency is not a cookie-cutter agency. I set out to fight the negative stereotypes and agency norms. I’m extremely proactive and transparent in my approach with clients to earn their trust. We analyze what has been done in the past in regards to advertising/marketing for our clients and look at trends and developing platforms to up their digital and printed presence. Each client we approach and hopefully get the chance to pitch, I truly do take the time to learn why they do what they do. Their “why” matters so much. What success looks like to them, etc. And then we lay out a roadmap on how we are going to execute those goals each step of the way. Communication is key.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Good things come to good people who do good business. Always take the high road. You absolutely can defend yourself, but evaluate if it’s worth it. Will you achieve the ultimate goal in doing this or will you lose yourself in the process and lose what you stand for? At the end of the night you have to be able to lay your head down and be okay with your decisions. We’ve built our clientele by having the opportunity to earn the respect of friends and colleagues. Reputation absolutely matters. People remember how you treat them when they come into contact with you. If my standards are high that is because those are the expectations I hold myself to and my team too. And hopefully, my clients feel rest assured that with those expectations we will never deliver less than quality work.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I had a near-death experience a little over two years ago. I took a four wheeler way too hard because I was letting my emotions dictate everything I was doing instead of combing through and facing them. I learned from that tough lesson and got back to work as quickly as I healthfully could. Life is short. I take every opportunity to be more present and thoroughly enjoy this life, but of-course as safe as possible now.
