We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Latroy Bowman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
LaTroy, appreciate you joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Some things I learned in college, some I learned on my own. You only have 24 hours in a day, the more time you spend perfecting you craft the better you will be. I try to take as much time to do research, practice, & watch others who do the same thing I do to see what I could do better. Just having good time management is one essential skill, sometimes you don’t realize how time really gets away from you, especially if you have kids, family, or work. Obstacles are a way of life, not giving up on yourself, not trying to compare yourself to others, and just not losing focus on your goal in hand. Its a lot of distractions that can stop you from learning more.

LaTroy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Latroy, aka L.Ambitious born & raised in Nashville,TN . I’m a podcast host for the show “You Cant Sit With Us Radio” & I have a music production group named “Threshold Brace Production”. Ive been doing the podcast about 7 years now, where we get inside the minds of music creators & entrepreneurs . S/O to my co-host Que the Deejay, we have all sorts of guest on to talk about them as individuals as well as everyday life. Threshold brace is a company where me and my co producer “Nikus” produce beats, engineer sessions, mix & master songs, provide studio time, produce music videos & much more. Both of my brands are authentic, were going to give you the best product in podcasting or music. It don’t matter where your located, were able to accommodate everyone.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Its definitely a few things that society can do. Ill say one is people have to stop being jealous & envy of one another. Its enough success, & money out here for everyone. Everyone success comes at different times if you continue to perfect your craft & continue to work hard. Being jealous & envy don’t help, it just stunts your growth. Also, just support people in your city, its a shame you can’t get support from your city sometimes, we all want success in someway, we got to help each other.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is just being able to connect with so many different people all over the country & world. The podcast has helped with connecting with a lot of entrepreneurs , artists , designers, & etc. Just enjoy meeting new people and able to work or collaborate with them in some sort of way.
