We were lucky to catch up with Latasha Sellers recently and have shared our conversation below.
Latasha , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I aim to leave a multifaceted legacy that spans creativity, education, and artistic expression. Through my work in jewelry design, I aspire to be remembered for pushing the boundaries of artistic techniques, crafting unique pieces that celebrate the beauty of organic forms inspired by nature. Additionally, I hope to leave a mark by giving back to my community, teaching free jewelry workshops to pre-teens & teens, nurturing the next generation’s creative potential. I love teaching jewelry classes, it gives me the opportunity to experience a love of art through someone else’s eyes. Lastly, my legacy would include a collection of fine art photographs, capturing the essence of the world’s wonders and curiosities that have inspired and intrigued me, leaving behind a visual testament to my journey through life.

Latasha , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I love this question! I am an artist and jewelry designer with a passion for organic and nature-inspired creations. My journey into this industry began with a deep fascination for the beauty of natural forms, particularly those found in the intricacies of the organic world. This fascination led me to experiment with various artistic techniques, culminating in my unique approach to jewelry design.
My brand specializes in crafting exquisite jewelry pieces that mirror the elegance and complexity of organic shapes. From necklaces adorned with oyster-inspired charms to rings featuring delicate leaf motifs, my creations celebrate the beauty of nature in every detail. What sets my work apart is the meticulous craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the fusion of artistic techniques to bring forth truly one-of-a-kind pieces.
I take pride in offering free jewelry classes to pre-teens in my community, as it allows me to give back and nurture young talents while fostering a love for art and creativity. My fine art photography, capturing the world’s wonders and curiosities, is also an integral part of my portfolio, reflecting my diverse interests and inspirations.
Ultimately, I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know that my brand is dedicated to creating art that transcends time and trends, that every piece tells a unique story, and that my work is not just about jewelry; it’s a celebration of nature’s beauty and a commitment to artistic excellence.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Certainly! During the COVID-19 pandemic, I faced a significant pivot in my career and creative journey. Prior to this challenging period, I had been involved in various aspects of jewelry design. However, as the world grappled with uncertainty and isolation, I decided to make a profound shift.
Inspired by my lifelong love for nature and the ocean, I embarked on a new creative path. I began focusing on crafting jewelry that celebrated organic shapes, using wax and casting real sea shells to capture the essence of the ocean’s beauty. This shift also deepened my fascination with pearls, as they symbolize the treasures hidden beneath the waves.
Creating this nature-inspired jewelry during such dark and uncertain times became a source of solace for me. It was a way to channel my emotions and connect with the natural world when physical distancing was the norm. What touched me most was the response from others who found hope and solace in my creations. Knowing that my work served as a small reminder of hope and beauty in their lives had a profound impact on me and reinforced my commitment to this new direction. It reminded me of the power of art and creativity to provide comfort and inspiration during challenging times.
