Larry, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

The most amazing part of creating Lorraine’s Premium BBQ Sauce is from the amazing woman in my life wanting the best for me. I’ve always been very close to my mother;
I just enjoyed being in her presence, her company has always been a comforting environment for me. At the age of 9, my mother said that she wanted me to learn to be a self sufficient man, so she began to equip me. Her goal was to teach me how to cook, clean, wash and sew, each lesson was necessary and I was a willing subject.
I think learning to cook was my favorite because there was the reward at the end. What you learned to cook was immediately there for you to eat! As I became older and my skills increased so did my desire to try more difficult recipes.
I learned to grill from my Father who passed away when I was 17 years old. I watched my father “doctor up” the only bbq sauce that was available at the time. As the right of passage presented itself to me I took over the grill. I started created different flavors of sauce for different types of meat. I had done this for years without ever considering selling the fantastic sauces that I had been creating.
It wasn’t until 2017 when an amazing entrepreneur friend of mine Owner/CEO of Oynx Enterprise asked me didn’t I want to bottle the sauce. Actually the thought had never crossed mind to actually sell my sauce. However after careful consider I made the decision to develop the product line of Lorraine’s Premium BBQ Sauce.
The sauce is named after my mother’s middle name Lorraine, simply because I wanted to be sure to honor her while she is still alive. After all I learned to develop the skills to create these sauces under her tutelage and guidance.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Sure great question; We have created a healthier alternative condiment for consumers to enjoy. We are most proud of the fact that our premium bbq sauce sets us apart because of the ingredients. We are Gluten Free, Non GMO, No High Fructose Corn Syrup, and only use Organic Ingredients. The problems our products address are that underserved communities have the highest rates of Heart Disease, Kidney Disease, and Diabetes. We created a product that wouldn’t contribute to these issues but in fact combat them.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I know for a fact that having a great product is awesome. However people do have to like to do want to do business with you. There’s a chance that people will deal with you even though they aren’t that fond you. Longevity comes from having a relationship with the client/customer. You don’t want one sale, you want many sales. I enjoy talking to clients and potential clients. I can appreciate a no, or a not right now. I treat those encounters with the same respect as I do when I get a yes. We also have a great product!!! Our reputation is build on having the best BBQ Sauce on the planet!!!! Our flavor profile is captivating, also we are known for being the healthier alternative. We are excited to share our product that is Gluten Free, Non GMO, and No High Fructose Corn Syrup. We’ve become a more health conscience society, so we are having better choices in what putting our bodies.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Honesty we have a few great sources. We love to demo at the stores we are in. It is a super gratifying experience when you see someones face light up after they have tasted our sauce. The product doesn’t speak for itself while sitting on a shelf. There are times when a customer will say yes they’ve seen it but haven’t tried it. Then Boom, there’s our opportunity to share our four flavors of goodness. So we do demos, also we do vending events in different locations. This is an amazing way introduce our products to new clients. There is a chance that the clientele is from out of town. We get that a lot, before we know they have placed an online order because they were not able to take the product in their carry on. So customer engagement is our best source. We love it and it works because we love our customers, that’s why we only use organic ingredients.
