We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lara Crutchley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lara below.
Hi Lara, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
LITTLE LALA really began with a simple idea: jewelry should feel personal. I loved accessories that told a story, but I noticed there wasn’t really anywhere local where people could create something uniquely theirs. That’s when I came up with the customization bar.
What excites me most is seeing someone pick out charms, mix and match, and leave with a piece that’s completely theirs. It’s more than jewelry—it’s a little moment of creativity and joy. That’s why I knew this business was worth starting: it’s fun, personal, and something I could share with my community.

Lara, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Lara, the owner and creator behind LITTLE LALA based in sunny St. Augustine, Florida. I started this business because I’ve always loved jewelry, accessories, and fashion—not just for the style, but for how small, unique pieces can make someone feel confident and joyful. Moving to the U.S. from England and raising my kids here gave me the push to create something that’s entirely my own, something that combines creativity with connection.
At LITTLE LALA, I specialize in jewelry, with a special focus on customizable pieces through our charm bar. I love giving people the chance to create something personal—whether that’s a bracelet, necklace, or pair of earrings that tells their story. Beyond just selling products, I aim to offer experiences that are fun, creative, and memorable, whether at local markets, online, or at private events.
What sets LITTLE LALA apart is the mix of style, individuality, and community. Every piece is chosen or designed to be unique and expressive, and I take pride in connecting with my customers and helping them find pieces that really speak to them. I also love supporting other women and small businesses, and I hope that energy and positivity comes through in everything we do.
I’m most proud of building this business from the ground up, balancing creativity, family, and entrepreneurship, and seeing how much joy our pieces bring to people. For anyone discovering LITTLE LALA, I want them to know that we’re about style that’s personal, experiences that are fun, and pieces that make you feel like you—all with a little sunshine state of mind.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I grew my social media by sharing authentic, personal content—behind-the-scenes moments, new pieces, and the charm bar in action. My advice for anyone starting out: be consistent, show what makes your brand unique, and focus on sharing content your audience will connect with—people respond to personality as much as products.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I first started LITTLE LALA launching the business from scratch was challenging. There were moments when I questioned if it would work and wondered how I could stand out. Instead of giving up, I focused on what made my brand unique—like the charm bar, which let customers create personal pieces. That small idea became one of our most-loved features, and it taught me that resilience is about staying committed, adapting, and keeping your passion at the center, even when things feel uncertain.
