We were lucky to catch up with Kyle Francis Chua recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kyle Francis, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I learned to do what I do through logo challenges that I encountered online and gaining basic knowledge on Graphic Design from my college degree. Knowing what I know now, I think approaching mentors or people that specialize in the craft could have sped up my learning process. Reading and absorbing knowledge from books would also be a huge help because success leaves clues.
Reading is definitely a huge skill to grasp, and the biggest obstacle that stood in the way of learning more would definitely be the fear of judgment. The fear that people would think badly about my work. Nowadays, it’s crucial to be on social media for people to learn about you and for you to learn about yourself, and if you’re scared of judgment, then you’ll never be able to take that first step out of your comfort zone.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My friends and followers on social media usually call me KC! And I’ve learned to embrace that, even using the name on my different handles online. I’ve built my reputation as a logo designer, and have been doing it as a freelancer since 2020 or during the start of the pandemic in the Philippines.
It started out with logo design challenges online, and I’d just post them on my Instagram and Facebook accounts. Over time, people started to take notice and a few friends and family would ask if I was open to creating logos for their businesses because they were interested in the process I would share. Eventually, this would lead to word of mouth and a larger following on social media that would open up more opportunities for my career.
What I love the most about what I do is that I get to learn about people. I get to hear their stories and to understand how they want to present themselves in the world. My purpose is to help people find themselves better and I take great pride and honor in being able to work with people from multiple industries.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My purpose is to help people find themselves better. That is the ‘why’ that fuels me, and I want to help as much people as possible to get their business going, and to create something that they can be proud of, that they can share to the world and help to create a bigger impact in the lives of others. I understand that I can’t reach a lot of people on my own, so by doing good work with good people, I can have a larger reach to touch others through them.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the opportunity to learn about people. I love people and I always indulge in self-help books to learn more about how people generally are. In design, people are always involved, there’s always a problem to solve and solutions to come up with each unique client. Through the process, you get to learn more about others, explore different industries, and always allowing yourself to immerse in these different stories to better your understanding of the world. At the end of it all, being able to help people find their way, or to clarify for them who they are, is always one of the most rewarding things for me, especially in my career.
