We were lucky to catch up with Kristen Rocco recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is my podcast, Bold Moves: How Did You Know? It allows me to share diverse life and career stories that inspire others to make bold moves toward their dreams. The idea came from my own experiences of feeling stuck and breaking free through small, courageous actions. I’ve learned that it’s not about what society says success looks like, but about how you define success for yourself.
When I realized others might also want to learn from people who challenge norms and create their own paths, Bold Moves: How Did You Know was born. Since launching in March 2023, I’ve interviewed more than 40 entrepreneurs, leaders, and creatives who’ve redefined success by following their authentic desires, not society’s expectations.
Through these conversations, I uncovered patterns in how bold people think and act. This inspired me to create the “Bold Moves Recipe”—a framework for making bold moves to help others take steps toward a more authentic, fulfilling life.

I’m a seasoned storyteller and content marketer with over 15 years of experience, shaping brand stories and content strategies across diverse industries—from professional services to tech, real estate, inclusion consulting, and even the wedding industry, where I launched a love storytelling business.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My reputation in both my podcast, Bold Moves: How Did You Know, and my content marketing consulting business, Bold & Noteworthy Marketing, has been built on two pillars: authentic storytelling and fostering strong relationships.
Authentic Storytelling
Authenticity drives connection. Through authentic storytelling, I invite my audience to see behind the scenes—the “why” and “how” of what I do, as well as the impact it has on people like them. This openness builds trust, which is foundational for any reputation.
For instance, in my podcast, I share personal stories that have shaped my own bold moves journey. By sharing these experiences, I’m not only talking the talk but walking the walk, reinforcing my mission to inspire and empower others to make bold moves.
For Bold & Noteworthy Marketing, I highlight real client success stories and industry insights I’ve gained through hands-on experience. This gives potential and current clients a transparent view of my approach and the measurable impact of my work.
Fostering Relationships
While storytelling sets the stage, relationships amplify its reach. Building genuine connections has led to referrals, new projects, and ongoing support from my network. The more people I connect with, the more people who get to know what I do and how great I am at what I do!
By combining authentic storytelling with relationship-building, I’ve created a reputation rooted in trust and impact.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to inspire and empower people to make bold moves. I believe that real fulfillment comes from purposefully writing our own stories, not living according to societal or cultural expectations that often don’t align with who we are. Too many people feel stuck in identities that don’t fit them, and my goal is to help them get unstuck and carve their own path.
This mission is the heartbeat of my podcast, Bold Moves: How Did You Know? In each episode, I introduce listeners to bold movers—people who have courageously defined who they want to be and what they want to do, and taken action to make it happen. Their stories demonstrate that living authentically is possible and that the journey, while challenging, is deeply rewarding.
At its core, my creative journey is about empowering others to break free of limitations, take ownership of their lives, and boldly pursue what matters most to them.
