One of the most significant risks I’ve taken in my life is tied to my 12-year journey with Crohn’s Disease. For over a decade, I found myself in and out of doctors’ offices and consulting with GI specialists, relying heavily on medications to manage the symptoms. Despite the best efforts of conventional medicine, I wasn’t experiencing true healing. The monthly prescriptions were becoming increasingly expensive, adding a financial strain on top of the physical and emotional toll of the disease.
About two years ago, I decided to take a bold step. I began researching holistic approaches to managing Crohn’s Disease. I was determined to find a solution that could offer real relief and healing. This journey led me to discover the benefits of sea moss. Intrigued by its potential, I decided to try it for myself. The relief I experienced within the first week was mind-blowing. It was a significant improvement over anything I’d felt in years.
Recognizing the profound impact it had on my health, I felt compelled to share this discovery with others. This drive led to the founding of my business, It’s The Moss For Me, LLC, in 2022. Starting this business was a risk on many fronts—financially, professionally, and personally. I was venturing into the world of entrepreneurship with a product and approach that was still relatively unknown to many.
However, the risk began to pay off quickly. Within a year of founding my LLC, the business gained BBB accreditation, which was a significant milestone. I was honored to win the Best of Gwinnett award for Best Specialty Food/Drink. Additionally, I had the opportunity to share my story and product through interviews in two magazine articles.
Overall, I’d say the risk has been incredibly rewarding. Not only has it improved my own health, but it has also allowed me to help others find relief and healing. The positive reception and recognition of my business underscore the importance and potential of holistic approaches in managing chronic conditions like Crohn’s Disease.
