We recently connected with Kris Mathis and have shared our conversation below.
Kris, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
My process for going from idea to execution is very unique. I don’t think I’ve ever shared this publicly before. Ha ha!
I have a creative space that I do most of my work in. It’s filled with inspiring art, things that encourage me, and pictures of important people from my life and journey. The room is laid out with the art surrounding the room with my desk sitting in the middle. So no matter which way I turn, I see something that speaks to me from a different point of my journey.
When I come into the room I sit at my desk and I stare at a blank screen on my laptop. I sit alone and in silence and I leave the door cracked and I let God in. I allow God to guide my path and the art around me to speak to me and help give me direction. As I sit there I really can’t put into words what happens. It’s like I hear the art around me speaking and telling me what to write. I just start typing until I run out of thoughts and ideas.
Once I’m done, I look back and read over what I wrote. Then I begin to put it together and make it all make sense. After this, I give it a a day or so to marinate. I then come back to it and take another read. If I’m still excited about it then I move it forward and share it with my team for discussion. If this goes well, we begin the process of developing the idea and leading it to a launch.

Kris, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a business coach, speaker, and the founder of Raise A Glass Tours, a city-style wine tour company that focuses on creating immersive wine and food pairing experiences around the country.
I didn’t get into business through a straight path. I grew into it by recognizing a gaps in the different industries I’m in. I love to problem solve and create things so I saw a way to help others by way of my own gifts, talents, and abilities.
I’ve met a lot of talented individuals with strong ideas, great products, and real potential, but they struggled to gain traction when it came to building their business. Not because they weren’t capable, but because they lacked clarity in their messaging, consistency in their marketing, and a real strategy behind how they showed up.
Figuring out how to help business owners and entrepreneurs move forward is part of what pulled me in.
I started out on the creative side, working with content, storytelling, and speaking engagements. Then I quickly realized that all of this story stuff without a strategy doesn’t move things forward. Over time, I started helping develop other people and their business. That’s when my work evolved into helping people not just create, but position themselves correctly, communicate their value, and build something that could actually grow.
Today, I work as a business coach, speaker, and marketing strategist. I help entrepreneurs, creators, and business owners develop stronger brands, more effective marketing strategies, and content that actually connects and converts with their audience in new ways as the market changes. From there, it leads them to more revenue and more profits.
The services we provide range from storytelling and marketing strategy to short-form content creation and full-scale media production. But at the core, everything we do is about intentional storytelling backed by real business strategy.
The problem I solve is simple, but also critical: a lot of people have ideas, but they don’t know how to execute them in a way that stands out or generates results. They’re inconsistent, unclear, or overwhelmed by all of the business stuff, and as a result, they stay stuck or invisible to their market.
That’s where I come in. I help bridge that gap.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just focus on making things look good. Instead, I focus on making them work and drive results. I combine creativity with strategy, so my clients aren’t just putting out content, they’re building something with direction and purpose that leads to more growth.
I’ve worked with thousands of entrepreneurs all over and what I’m most proud of is the impact my work makes. Helping people go from confusion to clarity and then seeing them thrive is major! Seeing the business they’ve created now support their family and their community is the impact that matters most. This transformation is what drives everything I do.
For anyone coming across my work, the main thing I want you to understand is this: your idea has potential to change your life, but that won’t happen without structure, positioning, and consistency. If you can get those three things right, everything changes for the better.
That’s the work I’m committed to. I’m all for helping people turn what they have into something that actually works.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think what’s helped me maintain my reputation is consistency and being authentically me in every room I walk into.
I don’t shift who I am or talk differently based on the environment, the audience, or what’s trending at the moment. In an industry where a lot of people chase attention and try to go viral, I’m focused on staying grounded in who I am, strategy, clarity, and execution. This consistency allows people to know exactly what they’re getting when they work with me or interact with my brand.
I also don’t position myself as someone who just creates content or gives surface-level advice. I focus on helping people build something that actually works. That means having honest conversations about what’s not working, even when it’s uncomfortable, and prioritizing results over feelings.
Another key factor is trust. I don’t overpromise, and I don’t rely on hype. I’m transparent about the process and what it really takes to grow, what needs to be fixed, and what’s required to see the results they want. That level of honesty has helped me build credibility in a space where this isn’t always the norm.
At the same time, I’ve learned how to adapt without losing myself in the process. The platforms change and trends come and go, but the fundamentals of branding, positioning, and communication don’t. Staying rooted in those fundamentals has allowed me to stay relevant without constantly reinventing who I am.
At the end of the day, reputation comes down to authenticity. If who you say you are, how you show up, and what people actually experience all match, people remember that and they trust it.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by focusing less on “growing followers” and more on building clarity around what I wanted to be known for.
My focus wasn’t getting a million followers. It was more about giving high-quality content and working with people that could lead to real outcomes. I was focused on working with people we could actually grow with and build toward meaningful revenue together.
That shift changed everything. Instead of chasing attention, I focused on creating value that attracted the right audience of quality people who were serious about growth, execution, and results, not just entertainment.
Over time, that approach proved itself. I started to see that you don’t need a massive following to build real success. You need the right message, the right positioning, and the discipline to stay consistent with both.
This strategy reinforced something important for me: growth on social media is not just about scale, but it’s also about alignment. When you focus on the right people and the right outcomes, the audience builds in a much more intentional and sustainable way that will lead to your goals over time.
