We were lucky to catch up with KIN2God recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, KIN2God thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
From a very young age, I was adventurous, curious and honestly a bit naive. My view of life and the world around me was unique, to say the least. I had always found joy in drawing, expression through fashion, and of course music. When thinking about my “future” no singular career ever stuck out to me, I always just knew I wanted to do the things I loved. Fast forward to graduating high school during the 2020 pandemic and having little to no solid plan, a random college major choice, and working minimum wage at a clothing store, i knew that if i wanted my dreams of creative entrepreneurial and musical ventures to succeed and become reality, that I would have to do whatever it takes to put the work in.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I love to sing, I love to exercise my creative muscles, and I love Jesus! He places creativity in me from a very young age and I’m often labeled as a “jack of all trades”. I’m just happy that everyday I get to wake up and go after another creative outlet that glorifies God and expresses my love for art all wrapped up in one.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
When you give birth to a piece of art and are true and unapologetic to who you are and what you represent, no matter how abstract it may seem, and people get it! And they receive it well. To share a piece of myself and to allow it to serve others, and for them to benefit from it, that’s what it’s all about!

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
The term “starving artist” is real! Support your local creatives if their work speaks to you. Even just doing a mental check in on them can do more than you think.
