We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kim Somers Egelsee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kim , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents always taught me to look for the good in every situation. They led by example, and took me traveling, to concerts and shows, and made me a leader in their video rental store business as a child and teen, which helped me develop people and business skills. They would always encourage me, not judge me and have empathy and compassion for things I was experiencing in my life. This has led to me being a successful business owner, leader and public speaker.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have been working in the field of self help/personal development for over twenty years and have written 21 books, I am a keynote speaker, have done a TEDx talk about Living In Your Full Power, am a life and business coach, intuitive and co owner of a publishing company called Publishing Joy. I love to help people step into their authentic power, shining their unique gifts while giving them a platform to shine through writing, speaking and media.
What sets me apart is my care and compassion for my clients, high integrity, my ability to see gifts within people and bring them out, and my confidence.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My social media following is over 50,000 with Facebook, Instagram, Linked In and Tik Tok. I built it through being authentic and honest, sharing personal, business, fun and exciting posts, videos and quotes. I love to interact and connect with people and get to know their stories, This leads to trust and the ability to connect with people globally
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
The co founder of our publishing company, Publishing Joy is Shajen Joy Aziz. I met her almost twenty years ago when I saw her powerful movie and book Discover the Gift. I dared to ask her to do a screening of it at my event and the rest is history, We became friends, worked together on different projects and naturally eventually started our company. We now have the sequel Discover The Gift of Joy coming this May
