We were lucky to catch up with Kevin Haynes recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kevin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today The first dollar you earn is always exciting – it’s like the start of a new chapter and so we’d love to hear about the first time you sold or generated revenue from your creative work?
My first time getting paid was senior year of high school at my youth group! I had the opportunity to perform a dance for free at my youth groups spring break bash event! I was one of the three performers at this event. There was a christian rapper named Buckey that got the opportunity to do a set at the event. When he did his set I was moved like never before. His words were truly worship to the Lord, and i was in awe of someone doing music and making money through a ministry. after his show I went up to him and told him how grateful I was that her came and shared his gift with the youth group. He proceeded to say the same about me. Buckey said “man I was very moved by your dance performance, you have amazing talent and i can really see the Lord using you to minister through dance”. He then shared with me how he has a concert coming up and he’s looking for people to open up the show for him. He asked me if I would be willing to open up for him, and that it was a paid opportunity! In that moment I felt like finally it was my time to do what the Lord has called me to do. I always knew that God wanted me to start my own dance ministry, but I personally did not see the fruit of the labor until that moment. It was such a special moment to see God’s plans for me moving forward. I knew that this was just the beginning and I was going to go all out for Jesus and Make God Famous!

Kevin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My business is called “Revolution Ministries” we are all about making God famous! We use our gift of dance to bring honor and glory to Jesus, and we show others how to use their gifts to honor the Lord.
I hold my own dance workshops monthly where we do 45min of dance technique in hiphop, and then we do 45 of a combo! I make sure people are being challenged and grow at these workshops. I am always trying to develop those who are in the room!
I also am working on building a course right now that will give dancers drills so they can build a better dance foundation and be able to grow more effectively.
I work with christian rappers/artist doing: music videos, background dancing, choreography and dance challenges
Lastly, I get hired to come teach at different dance studios and do private lessons as well! I also get hired to do my own shows.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal is for people to know Jesus as their lord and savior! I also want people to be encouraged to use there gifts and talents for the Lord.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of what I do is knowing that I am making a difference! I get to help people grow as dancers and as people. Walking with people in life and seeing their growth is always a blessing
